His demonstrations are so juvenile.

But, I don't know the man, so who knows?
I'm not familiar with his daughter. Is she a doctor, too?
Thank you, tansy. I like cooking shows. I'll have to check this one out. ![]()

I don't trust Dr. Oz's advice on anything. His daughter seems sweet.

BTW, in the past short amount of time, the Bay Area has had 22 deaths from the flu. And this is an area where most people get the yearly shot.
A healthy young man of 23 died of the flu some days ago. No flu shot.
I would be curious to know if those falling prey to influenza did or did not get the vaccine.

He has definitely sold out.
He may have been a wonderful heart surgeon in the past, but I have no idea what he is now. A TV personality wearing scrubs?

I don't care for Oz or his show, in general. I have already emailed the show to express how juvenile I think his demonstrations are and how potentially dangerous I think cramming so little information on so many things in one show is. People are running out to their health food stores to buy every dang supplement and so-called health food he says two words about.
However, I think his show sometimes provides very valuable information. It's kind of like going to a department store and having the patience to carefully sift through the racks to find that great bargain. That's how I see his show.
As far as the angels and spirituality, it all depends on what you believe. Everyone has their own belief system or none at all. When I was reading Deepak Chopra years ago, he talked a lot about the universe and angels watching over us. I do believe in it to some extent
(Lol, I accidentally typed a "t" at the end of far in my last paragraph. I couldn't figure out why my post didn't submit at first. I didn't know that was a dirty word.)

Although I am not necessarily a fan of his, and my b-i-l also a fine cardiologist who met him at Columbia Hospital, shares my opinion, that he has changed to much from a great Dr. to now taking on alternative subjects.
On this subject though, like what Oprah used to do, is introduce us to new ideas. I for one do believe there is such thing as speaking to the dead. I spoke to a psychic about my Dad, after maybe 1/2 year of his death, and I was amazed what the feedback was. The one thing that I only care to share was that my Dad was on his way to go fishing! A sportsman, in every aspect, and having many hobbies, fishing was one of his most beloved sports. Also, it was mentioned, that he had taken many "classes" about love and life, and felt he had learned a lot and sending each of us a lot of love.
I know of others who had also very pertinent feedback. I also know a healer in the NL, who I have known for 13 years who has helped me greatly sending energy so that I even close to my knee replacement surgery still was able to walk, period. She too has the ability to "go to the other side" and one day, when I have made some money and she is not so busy, I will be searching for those I loved and have gone in the future.
It is a reality. There have been programs on some channels, about small children, who also remembered disasters when they were small and in another life. I don't remember where, but the mother was flabbergasted when he lived with another Mom, and what his life was like then. And, ultimately, he could describe how he died. In a big building where he was a large fire broke out and he died before the building collapsed. The memories he remembered were so clear that you couldn't but believe him, and ultimately the parents, through professional assistance, learned to accept and believe him.
That's what I can say that I am a believer, having read a lot, and heard a lot - years ago there was a great program on NBC of a psychic, who was on twice/week always inviting people who could interpret or inviting those who were in another sphere and it was awesome.
Nuf 'bout this. So in this I agree with Dr. Oz. And hope he continues to bring on more alternative subjects.

I think she is adorable. I enjoy watching them all on "The Chew". Of course, Carla will always be my favorite.

Hi, magenta, I know how close you were to your father and I'll bet you found the contact comforting. I am not into that myself, but two of my siblings are and they have been much comforted.
I don't watch Dr Oz anymore (found it too alarming, too much to worry about. I have a life to live, too.) But I think he means well. I am old friends w/ a Dr at Columbia Presbyterian. Oz used to lead the cardiac team at Columbia Presbyterian. I think he wants to reach more people, before they are sick. My dad was a doctor and he was that way, too.
So much nicer for people to hear stuff before they are in that cold examination room in a paper vest, hearing that they need open heart surgery.
He has gotten rich too, no doubt; but I bet he has helped some people to become more aware of their risks. He's kind of like the news services: if it is a current story he will cover it. Sometimes he is way off base but I would bet on balance he is saving more lives than he did at Columbia Presbyterian.

This young man was misdiagnosed by Kaiser Permanente Doctors and put in a medically induced coma. It was not until after he died they realized he had the flu. Very sad situation.
