I still love Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers, Paul Butterfield, Eric Clapton and John Mayhall.

But I have to say I like many venues of music. Alternative to show tunes. Depends on my mood.

Believe it or not, Lila, my husband has a recording of yodeling cowboys. I finally banned it from our car trips--lol.

Back in the day, some friends and i were really into big band music. You know...Glenn Miller, etc. I still love Glenn Miller, and Billie Holliday, and a lot of the music from the 30s and 40s.

But a friend mine always winced and sometimes left the room

whenever we were somewhere and a song from that era would play (in a piano bar, etc)

Later she told me that her abusive father would always play this music while he was abusing her.

So, before you start to make fun of the " haters", remember that there may be a backstory.

For me, there is definitely a backstory associated with country music, and I've only been able to get past it in recent years. But it's still.not my preferred.
