Re: What does your name mean? Do you like it?

My name means life. I liked it most when I used to go to France. Vivian is also a French name, although the spelling is different (Vivien, Vivianne, Vivienne).

Never knew the meaning of my name so I looked it up. Online it shows palm tree? Whatever.

I know I was named after the Tammy movies. Tammy & the Bachelor. I was told later I should have been named Ornery since I'm so stubborn. LOL!!!

The meaning of my middle name suits me better. It's free person. Yes I am.

I do like my first name and my last name - they go together really well.

I don't care for my name.

It means waterfall, which is a meaning I love.  Unfortunately, in translation it is just about every other female's middle name. Never liked it, and it hasn't grown on me after all these years either.

Re: What does your name mean? Do you like it?

My mother wanted to name me Nancy, but there was already one n the family.  So, me grandmther came up with my name:  a combination of both grandfathers first name and my father's mother's first name.  Then, I took my mother's mother's name for my confirmation name.

I'm used to my name, but never would have picked it.

As a child, I went thru a phase where I hated my name and my red hair.  I wanted straight blond hair and a fun name like Heather!

Mom nipped my name dissatisfaction thing in the bud by telling me she had planned on naming me Patricia, but my grandmother's mangled pronunciation of that nice name led her to choose something simple that my grandmother could say without slurring!

No one else in elementary school shared my first name, but first day of junior high I met a new friend with my same name and we had every class together until we graduated.  We loved that teachers would say our first name followed by blonde, or red to get our attention.

I love my name and my red hair.

Re: What does your name mean? Do you like it?

My name is very Scotch/Irish and I like it just fine.  My first name means pretty in Scottish.  Funny, even tho it is not a long or hard to pronounce name, people always shorten it down to something or like to give me a nick name using the syllables.  That's fine.  My middle name was my Mom's nickname.

When people hear my name, they often say, "That's sounds like a movie star's name".

My mother told me she wanted to name me "Courtney" which I would have been OK with but my father wanted me to have a Scottish heritage name and thus - I yam what I yam.  Cat Tongue

I like my name.  The name Karen is a girl's name of Danish origin meaning pure.  (HMMMM, no comment on that,  LOL!)
