Mine means Springtime. I don't love it. I would rather have gone by my middle name.

@jubilant -- Think again. My family called me by my middle name. When I started school, everyone (teachers and kids) called me by my first name. All my life, some people call me one name, some call me another. It's been more than confusing. I prefer my first name -- it derives from the name of a flowering shrub (but that's not why I like it).

I looked up my name meaning, it's not something I'll remember so instead I'll say my mom named me after a favorite aunt of hers but my name is a little twist on it. I have never had a nickname or used any other name. I like my name and would not change it.

My dad chose it...from the Grace Kelly character in High Noon...he said she was "dainty and fair" and so he thought it suited me. All these years people tell me "you look like an Amy", lol...whatever that meant, I do feel it's always suited me, so good on Dad.

It was unusual for the times, but gained popularity in GenEx generation and since.

My name means Star. I was named after my mom. While it's not a name I think I would have chosen for myself, after all these years, it's who I am! So yes! I do like it! ⭐🌟⭐

It means pure & I don't like it...the never ending C or K is a pain so I follow it by saying with a C & end up with a K anyway. Ugh.

DH was raised going by his middle name and it has caused so much confusion all of his life and still does!

Many things go by his legal given name and others by his used middle name.

From school records to medical records, etc.

His mother also goes by her middle name, so I guess that's why she saddled her first born son with the same confusion.

Funny that she didn't do that with her next 2 kids, maybe she learned what a hassle it is before they came along.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I just did a search for the meaning of my name and it was sooo accurate for me. The color associated with my name is one of my favorites and the personality traits were pretty close too.

I do like my name. My Mom always called me by my full name and most of my old friends still do too.
