Not invented. I just wish I could have written the Harry Potter series. I mean, I 'm an English major, for heaven's sake. Such imagination and a great story teller for children as well as adults.

Wish I could have invented braces for teeth then I wouldn't had to spend a fortune

at orthodontists. 

New invention, maybe something faster to clean your teeth quicker than 2 minutes

twice a day with electric toothbrush.

Interesting question.  

Medical and social needs come to mind. I know it's all about $$$ and I'm not sure where that would come from, but some things I'd like to improve -   

Cures for diseases. Call me a skeptic, but I wonder about pharmaceutical companies that would be less sucessful if cures were found .... 

Artificial limbs that are amazingly functional. I believe this will be invented.

Ways for blind to see and deaf to hear. I believe that will happen some day. 

Miraculous procedures to help people with brain injuries. Also, artificial human organs.

Safe and functional interstate systems and safe and efficient vehicles. State of the art safe and fast passenger railway system in America.

Better prison systems. Opportunities for high percentage of success for rehabilitation back into society. Not everyone can be rehabed, but we need to have a better process in general.

Better systems for our military after being deployed. Something's amiss and I belive there is an answer to the neglect.

Simpler, more efficient system for taxes.

Better way to connect foster children with decent people who desire to provide long-term care or even adoption. I'm a former foster parent and sometimes I just wonder about social systems.

Safe areas for homeless. I know. Sometimes homelessness is a choice and they don't want to be a part of society, but opportunities for basic, safe shelter and medical needs.  

Better global communications and international relationships. This is about all countries, not just America. 

Pixie dust for peaceful solutions - instead of harmful weapons. 

Headphones where you can learn a foreign language in a short period of time. The knowledge sticks in your brain. Ugh. I'm trying to learn Spanish -- again!   

Maybe I'm overthinking this but creative ideas improving social systems could be considered inventions.

I thought post its and duct tape. I wish they'd invent many things instead of stupid self driving cars. How about something that can floss my teeth for me, like really floss. Really good, quick self cleaning vacuums and mops (what they have needs babysitting).How about cat litter that doesn't track all over the house. Dentists making a 3D crown in 10 minutes rather than making you wait two weeks. Orthos actually repairing one's spine without putting objects from home depot inside. I could go on for days. Cat toys that are really indesctructible and made by people who actually know about cats. Ok I have to stop.

I wish I had invented that sponge on a stick to put lotion on your back.  I thought of it about 30 years ago looking at all the sunburns on peoples backs.  Well, they have them now.  I waited way to long!

I wish I would’ve invented the personal computer. 

And every time I wipe down the shower stall, I wish the Japanese would get cracking on the waterless ultrasonic shower they allegedly were working on around twenty years ago!
