I got the n95 masks because I might get sick and don't want to infect others. I read 20% who get the virus need to go to hospital. That means I would need a mask to go to the hospital and to protect my husband.
Other than that, I always keep a stock of sick foods readily available. No one likes to shop when they feel like carp.

@KarenQVC The CDC is advising that only people who are sick should get masks. They fear a shortage for the healthcare workers on the front lines who need it.

@Linmo Thanks. Medical people are not allowed to get the masks from some rando store the way I did. They must buy from certified sources. It is a concern, though. I heard we have just 10% of the masks we might need.

Follow guidelines offered by medical personnel, the CDC, and the National Institutes of Health such as frequent handwashing, masks for those that are elderly or those with major health issues or compromised immune systems, and ensure that you have bleach on hand with which to wipe surfaces. As others have said, hand sanitizers and wipes are needed when out and about. Not buying anything in particular except disposable gloves for care of an elderly parent dependent on a number of devices. Sam's sold out in my community; I immediately ordered through Amazon.
