...or liberal.
Why do so many people just have to inject politics in threads where there should be no politics involved? And a wink and a smile after doing so just doesn't cut it.
Yes, I'M LIBERAL! Is that loud enough? and OMG, my friends and family actually have differing political views from each other... and in no way would any one of us advocate for police officers not to carry weapons! In this country the way it is today, that would be sheer stupidity! But I also don't think that all the military trappings should have been used in the first Ferguson protests... it just made everything worse. There is a time and place, but it wasn't there.

I'm not them but this is just a snippet of what's out there in little towns.
Police in Watertown, Connecticut, (population 22,514) recently acquired a mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle (sticker price: $733,000), designed to protect soldiers from roadside bombs, for $2,800. There has never been a landmine reported in Watertown, Connecticut.
Police in small towns in Michigan and Indiana have used the 1033 Program to acquire “MRAP armored troop carriers, night-vision rifle scopes, camouflage fatigues, Humvees and dozens of M16 automatic rifles,” the South Bend Tribune reported

The day criminals have no guns or access to guns in their hands, I'll go along with it.
Of course that will never happen so I support law enforcement having every weapon possible at their disposal.

Here's a handy website to see exactly what your state or town has gotten from the program. I clicked on the whole state of New York, but you can change the parameters.

Mostly rifles and scopes for my area.

Louisiana got 15 mine resistant vehicles 733,000,00 ea
1 helicopter $922,000.00
5 personal carriers 224,000.00 ea
5 observation helicopters 190,000.00 ea
And that was just the top money items from that state. Pages more items.

Do I think it's a good idea that only the criminals should have guns? Ahhhh....no. I don't think anyone, even someone who is vehmently anti-police would like that idea.

What do I think? I think they`re nuts.
