...about Mark David Chapman (I think that's his name) being let out early from prison? He's the man who tried to assasinate Ronald Regan--the president of the United States-- back in the 80's. I think they're thinking of releasing him early because he's had good behavior, probably found Jesus (or Muhammed or whoever), no longer a danger to the public, he's become a better person...blah blah blah.
I'm against it. He's in prison for a reason--he tried to kill one person (and I think that a President of the United States makes it worse), plus he shot a Secret Service agent (I'm thinking of the man who literally got lifted off his feet by the shot that hit him), and poor (James?) Brady was disabled for life.
You go to prison for a reason: you commited a heinous crime and you're being punished. I don't care if, while incarcerated, you become such a good person that everyone thinks you're the angel Gabriel. You recommitted a bad crime (it wasn't just shoplifting) and being imprisioned was the punishment.

He’s the one who killed John Lennon , I believe . No , he should not be released , ever !

How long has he been in prison?? 40+ years?? If I were him, I wouldn't even want to come out. What kind of life will he have outside of prison?

You refer to John Hinkley Jr
The authorities are letting many murders , rapists and child molesters out of jails around the country . Can't imagine , how those victims and their families feel. I don't think that anyone who has been convicted of these violent crimes be released .
If it had been an attempt on a different person's life , I bet ya the guy would never be released , he'd still be at the psych hospital .
Guess, it would be interesting to know James Brady's family's feeling and Jody Foster 's feelings.
We can only hope that he does not plan to kill anyone else

@PuppyLoverBob666 Your source? Chapman's next parole hearing is in August!
As others already confirmed, Chapman killed John Lennon.

skatting 22, you make a good point. I had forgotten about Jody Foster. And I think it's bordering on an insult to James Brady's family and everyone who's had the same experience--the criminal who hurt/killed someone, gets out early, and, for them, life goes on.
Not for the victims and/or their survivors; they carry that burden for the rest of their lives.

Hinkley is already out of prison. He's been living in the community for a year or so, I think.

@PuppyLoverBob666- John Hinckley, Jr. who attempted to assasinate Reagan was released from the mental hospital back in 2016 on conditions. He will be unconditonally released this month.
Mark David Chapman who murdered John Lennon, is up for his 12th parole hearing in August.

No, absolutely not, he shouldn't ever get out of prison. And they can throw Mark David Chapman off a cliff for all I care.
He shouldn't be released, OTOH, taxpayers shouldn't have to support these freaks for years and years.
Our justice system needs a major overhaul.
P.S. Mark Chapman should've got the electric chair a long time ago. JMO.
