The city of Seattle, Washington has bought and is giving out free headlights and flashing lights for people who bike. Using tax payers money. The question is should the city be using tax payers money for this? The city says it is for the safety of both the biker and the car driver. Many people say that the bikers should be made to purchase them their selves and not at the taxpayers expense.
I am not a bike rider- but on dark rainy nights ( we have a lot of them here) I would appreciate a biker to have this on them so I could see them better. I have had a few close calls in my years with bikers because of having a hard time seeing the bikers. I feel it is a good move by the city. What do you think?
