Re: What are you snacking on ?

I'm so mad.

My antioxidant trail mix I mentioned earlier in the thread is no longer available. I bought 2 bags...there were several more on the shelf. I went back tonight--2 days later--and they are all gone.

I'm so irritated; I'm not usually into trail mix, so to find one that I like and then have it disappear is something I am going to pout about for awhile, if you all don't mind.

Re: What are you snacking on ?

Jules5280, I'd love to share this with you. It's from a new book I have on the Mediterranean way to eat.

I couldn't find pumpkin seeds or dried apricots and the dried cherries, had dried blueberries in with them. I used instead, cashews.

Preheat the oven to 300, line baking sheet with aluminum foil.

In a large bowl combine 1C raw almonds, 1C walnut halves, 1C cashews ( Or 1C pumpkin seeds, 1C dried apricots, cut into thin strips (these are what I didn't find at the store) 1C dried cherries and 1C golden raisins. Pour 2T. extra virgin olive oil over all and toss well with clean hands (of course), then salt with 1 tsp. salt and retoss.

Pour mixture on baking sheet in single layer and bake til the fruits begin to brown, 25-30 min's. Cool on the baking sheet to room temp. and seal in airtight container or zipper top plastic bag.

Serves 10 -12. This stuff will never go bad here...I love it. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: What are you snacking on ?

I ordered the Squirrel Nut Co. Town & Country mix. It was the food of the month in January. Really good price for two big tins. I'm hanging my head now (husband loves sweets; I love the salty snacks) I have eaten both tins by myself. Hanging head further - I reordered. This is a new food group for me; I absolutely LOVE this stuff.

Black Cherry Chobani is my favorite too. Lunch today is Stonyfield Greek Cafe Latte yogurt, a banana and Peanut Butter M&Ms. Most of the major food groups!

That stuff is awesome, isn't it? I ordered it too and within one week I had nearly annihilated one entire can, LOL. I'm now slowing down in an effort to make the second can last longer, but man, is that stuff addicting.
