Re: What 'ancient' skill do you possess?

I don't know if this counts as ancient but I make homemade flour tortillas and my sisters and I get together Christmas Eve and make tamales from scratch as well. Both delicious, no comparison to store bought.

I can use a hectograph  to make duplicate copies from a pan of gelatin.  I can sew leather with an old hand tool.  I bake from a scratch and can sew my own clothing...hem and repair it too.

Drive a stick shift too.

I make cookies and pie crust from scratch, hang out some of my laundry, and can still knit, crochet and cross stitch. Oh, I still write down my appointments in a book😀.

I can do math on my ABACUS. I think this method dates back b.c....Woman Very Happy

My mom taught me how to count on an abacus. She used to work where she got paid by piece-work and had to tally all the tickets to get a total pay amount. She had me tally them on the abacus.

I know Gregg shorthand.  Also, I like to read a book, magazine or newspaper when I'm in a waiting room.  Seems just about everyone else is on their Smart phone.  I have a basic cell phone but not a Smart phone and would rather read anyway.
