If Sports Illustrated was an ironic magazine, which it isn't, I would have stated that they were doing a social commentary by putting Barbie on the cover. That models today have had so much work done - chin, eye, cheek, b00bs, butt implants, lipo, rhinoplasty, botox, fillers, hair extensions, eye lifts, etc - and that the image that they were all trying to achieve was...Barbie.
