Wow! Wow! Wow!

After 8 emergency warnings on my phone, I finally turned it off at 1:49am. PapaWick's phone kept blaring, but he didn't count them and erased them before I could count. All seems okay at our place except some in-ground flat solar lights washing away, and septic alarm (it's okay this morning). Reports of 6 and even 10 inch rain gauges overflowing.

Schools are closed in our county.  Lots of flooding in the area.

Hope all my Texas peeps in this path are okay.

I like the midwest but I'd never want to live in Hurricane Alley.

@MamaWick Glad you and the Mr. are okay. Hope your forest friends are okay as well. Stay safe!

Btw, don't you just love that alarm for the septic system.

No you don't, I'm in SE coastal GA, Savannah, and hurricanes are so, so scary.

By the grace of God I've through too many of them.

It is so scary and dangerous when these horrible storms hit.  I am glad you are well and safe and feel bad for all who are experiencing flooding.  In my state we have had some storms recently which caused a lot of flooding, add in tornadoes too.

The weather has definitely changed in my lifetime and not for the best.  Between the threat of unheard of tornadoes in my area, strong damaging winds and flooding, it is stressful .  I'll leave it at that.

Hope our woodland friends are ok , so many of them suffer and pass from these storms and fires.

@MamaWick   Hope the Wick family is safe.  Where do the deer hide during storms?

We got slammed here last night, Mamawick, but not nearly as bad as you did!  I'm in far north S.A.

Some districts closed here as well.  What I will never understand are these idiots that insist in driving thru the blocked off areas due to the massive road flooding and then they have to be rescued!! Smiley Frustrated

I hope all the deer are okay!!  Heart

MamaWick,

So glad you have emerged from this with minimal losses.

This sort of deluge is unusual in your part of the world, isn't it?

What a blessing that each and every Wick, human and forest creature, have survived and doing well.

It is so frightening when bad storms hit.  Makes us realize how little we can control sometimes.
