I also love crosses, have an 18K white gold one I wear every day, only take it off to clean it or when I am wearing yellow gold jewelry. The sleeping beauty cross is beautiful, but I think it is overpriced for the amount of 14K and the diamonds are negligible. I don't know much about sleeping beauty turquoise, but I wouldn't pay more than half that price for it. If you love it, then it's worth it to you.

I'd really love it if the bale had a smattering of diamonds and was more cohesive with the vine work, but still not at that price.

They have stopped mining for Sleeping Beauty turquoise in 2012 and have resumed mining for copper which has also increased in value dramatically in the last several years. This caused gem dealers to buy up almost every available SB turquoise causing a very tight inventory in the world market, hence the increase in cost. Of course if the price of copper ever drops again, or the price of turquoise (because of impending scarcity) soars, they may start mining for it again.

The commodities market is fascinating.
