What a Storm!

WOW!! We were expecting a storm to hit on Monday sometime, but what a mess! They are deeming it an inline wind and storm event, it really packed a wallop. We were just finishing dinner when we saw it coming up through the valley. The winds were severe, the rain pelted the windows and the sky went dark. It only lasted an hour or so but when it was done 90% of the homes in our area were dark. We are used to power losses, we have had them for the 30+ years we have lived here but it's usually an hour or so and the power is back on. Not this time, we're one of the lucky ones, ours came on this morning but we are among the fortunate 20% or so that have had our power restored.

We retreated to the motorhome to run the generator for power and to catch the news. I was worried about the fish, everyone else is mobile but the tank had no power to run the filters and aerators. We set up a heavy duty electric cord thru one of the family room windows to get them up and running again. The cats water dish is a fountain, they weren't sure what to do without the fountain, but thirst won out!

My thoughts and prayers are with those that are still in the dark, those that might be alone or not well. The township has opened the area firehalls and many of the churches have opened up their facilities to those in need and folks are calling on neighbors to render aid or transport to a care facility if needed. Side effect of the storm is that the water pumping stations lost power. . . thousands in outlying areas are without water.

Today is my 72nd birthday, our power came on at 3am this morning! Happy Birthday to me!! I hope my neighbors appreciate it! LOL LOL!!!

That sure sounded like a nasty storm. Glad your power came back on just in time for your birthday. Enjoy your special day. Hoping no one was injured in the storm.
