There was a great documentary on this.  So glad to see we've come so far from what they faced.

I was on the phone with my very dear friends who have been together for 26 years this morning ,after the decision came down.  My state was part of the 9th Circuit decision to allow marriage equality, but they've been waiting for the Federal decision to come down before they made their marriage plans.

These guys are the most devoted partners I have ever seen. Sharing the emotion of this wonderful day with them was one of the most precious moments in my life.

Physicsnut--There is no appeal.  The US Supremes are the highest Court.  The other side can file a Petition for Rehearing but that is generally a waste of time.

Lots of champagne being opened tonight!!  Lovely couple in Atlanta got married, they are so much in love.   I'm sure lots more will but they were featured on the news and wanted to be the first couple but weren't ..  Never the less they tied the knot!

Everybody deserves to be happy!!  đźŤ·

Darn iPad non-functuality on this forum. I would love to be able to post many happy, joyful celebratory emotions here. It's been a long time coming, and I'm *so proud* to see this in my lifetime. We will be the generation who cared enough to make it happen.

Excellent, long may they love!

They had a couple from Texas that has been together for over 30 years.  I am so happy for all of those couples that waited so, so long for this day!  Heart

This is just such a great thing!  I'd think that everybody would be happy for equality.  It's not like anybody is being forced to do anything they don't want to do, but it's just so wrong for some to think that they should be able to dictate everybody else's lives, based on their beliefs.    That's just so very very wrong.
