PLease don't misunderstand me here. I am ALL for less censorship and more open conversation on this board. And I am delighted with today's ruling. However............I can't understand how this controversial "current event" discussion is allowed here when others, even less controversial or political,  are quickly deleted.

If you're going to have standards, you should at least enforce them evenly. My vote would be for more liberal standards.......but if that's not in the cards.......at least try to enforce the rules more evenly.

Controversial topics will be removed – Discussions of a controversial or confrontational nature will be removed at our discretion. The following are examples of topics that generally create a negative dialogue between Community members which will result in removal of the discussion and possible banning: current events, politics, religious beliefs, and unkind comments about hosts, vendors, models, or employees.

It has been kept civil, by removing the hateful, religious,  and political posts within the thread.    As long as it has continued to just be a celebratory conversation, without fights or political/religious stuff, the mods have left it alone, appropriately IMO.

This post has been removed by QVC as it is not in keeping with the celebratory nature of this thread

I just wish they'd take the time to remove offending posts from other current events topics as well, and let those threads stand like this one.

It's not the subject matter that matters to me. It's the uneven moderation I object to.

I think the uneven moderation has A LOT to do with who reports things.  When they get more reports, they poof quickly.

This thread has had posts removed that talked about religion and politics and I'm sure that will continue. For the most part, the posts here are simply posters expressing happiness at the decision.

As long as no one takes any bait to veer away from celebrating, the bait will be deleted and the celebrating will remain.

I am right there with you Donna.  I have spoken to several friends today on the phone and some extended family members.  It is a cause to celebrate!

IMO It has to do with the ability of those on the discussion thread to keep their comments civil.
