I know that this has been asked before, but it's fun to see what irks us when it comes to words and sayings.
For me it's "cougar", as in when an "older" woman dates a younger man, and "panties".
What's yours?

"The American people want/think ...." Nobody knows what absolutely every citizen wants or thinks. I'd prefer "I/my supporters want/think ...."
"Basically". I agree with "Judge Judy", it's a 'filler word'.

"God doesn't give us more than we can handle."
A ridiculous concept. Think of suicide, breakdowns, and those who turn to drugs or alcohol to numb their pain. Obviously they had more than they could handle.

I am so sick of hearing “transparency” – it just means being honest. Quit talking about it and just do it/be it!

Many years ago I worked with someone whose immediate response to everything was "you just haven't rolled enough pumpkins yet". Hearing that over and over every single day used to really pi$$ me off. I was so happy when she transferred to another position.

I answered this before but I listened to QVC plus the other night and the host said "awesome" in almost every sentence. I am sorry very few things strike me with awe and certainly not a piece of clothing. It is over used and just really irks me most. As a child, I was taught that G*d inspired awe...that's kinda hard to top!

"So..." It's a crutch word that nervous or insecure people use at the beginning of a sentence when they're asked a question. I've heard celebs and even some vendors use it during interviews.
