They toss out the bait of those deliberate personal insults HOPING to get a fight started with someone, because they know full well there are no consequences. Get your post deleted? Ohpleezenobiggiewhocares.  Such posters who make a game and a habit of this should be warned and then banned, IMO. It would eliminate over half of the thread locking and deletion, maybe more.

Sitting on my hands.  LOL...

LOLOL back atcha. I've never claimed to be Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, but I give my opinion and then let it go most of the time. I don't call people out, but I do snap back on occasion, when I'm snapped at. I'm not going to be b-slapped with impunity. But I don't keep it up for pages back and forth, which I think is tacky and no one "wins", no matter what they think.

What I was going to say wasn't so much you but the people you associate with who do the very thing you mentioned in your paragraph.  Didn't want to go there hence the reason for saying "sitting on my hands."

I am not understanding... Is there something wrong with making a point and being polite?  Or, do some like or miss snarky comments?

Isn't better to discuss both points of view... rather then fly by comments, without substance?

No matter the discussion,  there will always be some with opposing points of view. I guess we can all agree to disagree... doesn't bother me a bit.  I am just trying to figure out what everyone is talking about what is "wrong" with this board?

******************************

1)  Yes, there is something wrong with being polite.  Some here would rather have a nasty, no-holds barred personal insult war.

2) Some have nothing intelligent to say but would like to get into the subject by way of choice #1.

Re: What this board used to be -

it used to be a place where a thread bashing another poster could stand for DAYS and DAYS -

That will not happen now with the new moderation.  Losing a post now and then or a thread now and then is a smal price to pay if you ask me.

I am rarely on here anymore, or anywhere really, my  life has gotten busier each year it seems - in a good way Heart

But, when I do get to stop by and say hello to old friends, it is a much more pleasant experience.  I am thankful for that.

Hi minky, Hope all is well with you and yours. Smiley Happy

I kinda, sorta miss the VP days circa 2012 / 2013. I met many posters on there who I admired...and, I have no idea where many of them went. One lady, Judge Judith totally cracked me up with her stories about her girlfriends going on a vacation together, who was going to do the driving and divying up the rest of the costs for their trip.  It sounded like a Letter to Dear Abby. LOL Woman LOL

There are still snarky posters.  They ruin every thread.

Ya think?  It's what some live for I suspect, lol.

I don't think casting aspersions on fellow posters, even uunnamed,  is anything but judgemental and snarky.
