@SharkE   You know it.   As I was reading the answers here I kept thinking that they are all beautiful women in modern make-up much applied by make-up professionals.

I believe beautiful women have existed throughout human existence, but we are attracted in each age to what we know  and what the needs of that particular time and culture finds attractive,

Well, I certainly think she was beautiful, even as a child, but there are many, many other beautiful women.

I saw a picture of Rachel Hunter years ago, when she was with Rod Stewart.  She was stunning.  I think Alexis Bleidel is beautiful and many many others.

Not "the most" but one of the most. Right now the only other woman who I can think of that was as beautiful as Elizabeth Taylor was Grace Kelly.

I thought of another really beautiful woman.....Natalie Wood.

I agree. She was one of the most beautiful women ever.  The violet eyes though....it is not possible for any human being to have eyes that are a true violet color.  Publicity hype.   Deep blue, yes.  Purple, no.

@PhilaLady1  So how did her eyes appear violet? Contact lenses were not commercially sold until 1983.

She most definitely was a very attractive lady, but I'm not sure that it brought her a great deal of happiness. I think she dealt with many demons in her lifetime that brought both emotional and physical pain.
