What Do You Think Would Be The Minimum Cash HS Grad Gift?

Need your opinions please. We have been invited to a distant relative's graduation. So distant that we have never met this young lady nor knew what she looked like until we received the graduatiion invitation. We are sure that her parents know we can not attend since they live 2000 miles away.

Personally, I want to just ignore it because I think it was ignorant of them to even send it. However, my DH says "Wellllll, we probably should send something" It is his distant relative.

Honestly, I hate to write the check but it's his $$$ too. Could I get away with $20, 25?
