Opiates and pot seem to be the only thing left. I do not think the consumer now knows what to do. Even tylenol is dangerous to the liver.
I haven't smoked weed for quite a few years, and in fact since before I had all these pain issues. So I can't help but wonder if that would be helpful. I wouldn't even know where to get it anymore, so I guess it's a moot point. But I'm not adverse to trying it - for pain of course.
Only bummer about weed is that it makes you lazy and hungry.

CB......I like how you refer to it as your "treat".....I use Advil the same way. I try to use it only when I have to do something or the pain is affecting my daily life (which is just about everyday....but some days are worse than others)
Hi Lotus!
Yeah, I can't afford to get addicted to anything and I make sure that I don't take any one thing frequently enough for it to lose efficacy. So it kind of is like a treat. It's like 'ooh, I can have a few hours on a given day with less pain'. ![]()
I used to get Ambien 10 sometimes and never took them more than twice a week. It was so nice to sleep for 5 or 6 hours on those nights but I never wanted to take it too often for it to lose efficacy, plus I never knew when I might be able to acquire more. As much as I hate that I have trouble sleeping, to some degree, every single night, I never wanted to take them all the time. I made them last as long as possible and enjoyed every bit of it.

Whatever it said, rest assured a report will come out in due time contradicting it.

CB....that's how I used Vioxx when I heard it was coming off the market. Boy did I try to save what I had left for those unbearable moments.
I'll never forget how I felt a couple of years later, I had found about 3 free samples that I had in a drawer. I felt like I had found a million dollars.
I remember thinking......I'd love it if they were sold on the black market......I'd have to find a dealer. ![]()

This is not new news!
You need to talk to your doctor.
Everything we take comes down to benefit vs risk.

This is concerning but what else can we do for pain? Aspirin doesn't always work well. Tylenol comes with it's own issues. Prescription pain killers have side effects a mile long. Unfortunatley we take a chance on everything we take for pain.

I hear this on the television news. I've never used the products mentioned but I don't know how many folks out there will acquire the disease from those products. Time will tell.

Ive been getting a warning attachment on my prescription strength Ibuprofen for a long time now so this is not new.
And yes it worries me. My mom died of heart failure young (51) and so did her dad (47), and her mom (27).
And I take IB for 15 years for my back. Also I take a pain med w acetaminophen. That worries me too. But the alternative is severe pain and no life, so I have to take them. My spine has damage on every level and I have plates in my neck.
