Polish stoneware, but I use it more than collect it.

I collect Santa faces, and thin pencil shaped Santa ornaments.

I used to collect snow globes and lighthouses; love the structural differences of lighthouses.  I started my collections with pricey, unique pieces and wanted a small, defined collection.  If people asked me if I collected anything, I said no.

All it took to ruin my desire, and my collection, was for a friend from work to stop by unexpectedly, and see my snowglobes, and lighthouses.  Even tho I showed her my pieces, and explained the purpose of my collection, all she walked away with is that I collect.  As expected, my

collection went from hand picked expensive pieces to everything snow globe and lighthouse; teapots, clocks, ornaments, even a mans tie.   That stopped my collecting.

Oddly, I always have my eye out for interesting small mixing bowls.  I have no idea how or why this started, I accutally do use them - they are not for display.  I am totally baffled by my interest in them...yet it continues.

@Havarti, I do that, too.  I have about a dozen tiny bowls, condiment size.  They are all Polish artisan pottery, mostly I find them on the Web.  I probably use several every single day, and they aren't expensive.  I made chicken thighs for lunch (and lunch tomorrow) and used a 1/4 cup (or so) prep bowl for the teriaki-chili sauce I made to brush on them.

Re: What Do You Like to Collect?

So many interesting and varied collections!

I also like to collect money.

I like to collect old currancy, and money from around the world.

Believe it or not, I still have some Euros that I brought back over from my trip to Ireland in 2002!

Re: What Do You Like to Collect?

Icicles for the Christmas tree and Salt spoons.  Have a few that were turned into pins and when I wore one the most interesting comment I got was " Cool "Coke" spoon!"  Who knew?

@Plaid Pants2Have you looked at the square beaded Connamara Marble  Rosary beads?  I have a set with the carved marble cross and get many comments when people see it.  The square beads are a good vehicle for the various shades of the marble.
