The main character was too harsh, aggressive, negative. She was hard to believe as a law professor in a classroom. I would've preferred a lighter touch to her character, more sharp wit - not "funny" but intelligent quick wit.
It was hard to follow. I'm not a fan of the forward/backward flashes being used that much.
Hi Lion
I agree with all you've said, also. It was disappointing. For me, that was all about the writing, not the acting. I hope they can get it together.

I saw Viola Davis on the View and I thought she was wonderful. I love hearing about the accomplishments people have made. She grew up hungry and now works for feeding children in this country. I find that to be commendable.
Hi SO!
I thought it was confusing, also, and dark. Hard to know what was going on in the woods or why they wanted the rug. They're not dumb, they'd know it could have been traced. Could the murder only have been an exercise?
That's what I was thinking, too.

Well, hopefully the writers will pay attention to these comments, and accordingly adjust. After all, lots of celebrity vendors read Community, and they probably have writer friends.

Romary, there is a new device many of the drama shows are using now. Flash forward and then flash back to the present...flash forward and then flash back to the present. repeat.
SO, basically what you have to do is keep watching and then it all becomes clear. It is confusing for sure, though.

BTW, anybody else notice that many/most of the crime series take place in dark police office settings? Who works in the dark, anyway?

Thanks, Scottie. Maybe I'll watch the entire first episode. That would help!

I'm only guessing that there are many 'aggressive' law professors, possibly teaching prospective prosecutors how to take command, be very demanding (for information in cross-examining), (or whatever the words/descriptions are), etc.

Good luck! Even though I recognized the device, I kept going "what's happening?" Last night's show had the flash forward carry on a little bit too long.
