Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

This morning read Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand. Very good quick read.

Pianomama, I've read all of the Chelsea Cain books. I thought "ONE KICK" was pretty good. "HEARTSICK" is the first book in her Archie and Gretchen series. This author seems to have a bit of a dark side to her, as all of her books have some gruesome and violent scenes.

I just finished The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. I've had it on my Kindle forever and I finally decided to read it. A little overlong but very enjoyable. I love that so many of the classics are available as free downloads from Amazon.

I just started Personal by Lee Child. This is my first Jack Reacher book and I hope that isn't going to matter too much in following the plot. I did see the Jack Reacher movie so I'm familiar with the character. And I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I really liked Tom Cruise in the movie, even if he wasn't physically right for the part.

If you don't like PERSONAL, don't give up on the author. I'm a Lee Child fan but didn't care much for that book:/

Thanks, tansy. I read some other reviews that said this wasn't his best. I'm up to chapter 8, which isn't that far because the chapters are short. I'll probably read it all eventually.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

I finished The Blood of an Englishman (the latest Agatha Raisin) and was pleasantly surprised. I liked it more than the last few I read. I'm always happy when she includes Sir Charles Fraith in the plot.

I'm still reading Personal (Jack Reacher) and just started The Rosie Project (Graeme Simsion).

Smoky, I read "THE ROSIE PROJECT" a while back, and thought it was really cute. They're going to make a movie out of it too. I liked the Agatha Raisin book as well.

I decided to take a break from Agatha Raisin and read RANGE OF MOTION by Elizabeth Berg. I enjoy this author, but I am surprised I was able to read this story about a wife who's husband is in a coma, and her relationship with her family and neighbor. I am glad it was a Kindle library loan.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

Finished Ellen Sussman's A Wedding In Provence. A quick read about a 2nd marriage with a couple in their early 50's and their families. For a wedding that was supposed to be about a Jewish family, even though they weren't religious or didn't really embrace Judaism, the one daughter didn't even know what a chuppah was, or what it stood for, and had to google it.

Going to read Rebecca Rotert's Last Night At The Blue Angel next.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

I just discovered something. I periodically check amazon to see if there's a new book by my favorite authors. So I see up in the corner, 'email me if there are any new books by this author'! I was so happy. This makes it so much easier. Or did you know this? I may be a day late and a dollar short.

Thanks for letting me know. My list will be long then. LOL There used to be a website that used to do this but it became extinct.
