Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

Just finished The Stager by Susan Coll. Can't figure this book out. It was weird. Can't explain it, it's too convoluted. Supposed to be about a stager staging a house for sale but it is more than that w/the family, the rabbit, the father on so many drugs he hallucinates and the rabbit talking and the rabbit ends the book talking.

Starting A Wedding In Provence by Ellen Sussman next.

Can anyone tell me if they read "The Shell Seekers" and your thoughts? I know I have seen on here somewhere that others have read it but cannot find it--maybe it was last month.

My mother liked it but that was back in 1987.

My mom loved it too! They must have read it at the same time!

Ditto!

sweetdreams is someone pushing this as a book club choice?

No, my DIL read it and recommended it to me and I just do NOT do book clubs as I am TOO PICKY about what I read!! LOL

Too funny - my Mom read it too but I requested my library buy it and they sent me a notice today that the E-version is now available so I think I'll read it!

SAgal: Let me know your thoughts on The Making of Us which I am enjoying as much as The House We Grew Up In. I doubt I have ever read an author who writes as well as she does and will continue to read more of her books! What a wonderful writer and hope she continues writing her stories!

Did you finish The Making Of Us? What did you think?

When I first read it (and really liked it) I couldn't relate. I can now.

I have about 50 pages left and I may like this one even better than The House We Grew Up In, but will let you know.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

I finished Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi, and I have to say it was well worth giving it one more chance. I do recommend it to anyone who enjoys a longer book. It was just wonderful.

Today I started Red Rain by R.L. Stine. I fell right into it, and if it doesn't get too bizarre, I think I'm going to really enjoy it.

Happy reading everyone!

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

Has anyone read any of Chelsea Cain's books? I just read One Kick by her. It was pretty good, and I found another one of her books today at the library.

Enjoyed my day off by spending several hours at the library. Took my time and found a bag full of books. What a pleasurable day!
