I love Lisa Scottoline books, and think she has a good writing style ! Also like Lisa Gardner in this genre.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

I finished the latest in the Gansett Island series by Marie Force, Kisses After Dark, and I really enjoyed it. I love reading series, especially this one that I just happened to stumble across because the first one was free on kindle!

I also just devoured my ARC of Teardrop Lane by Emily March, the latest in the Eternity Springs series. The book doesn't come out until January, so I am saving my review until then, but it was definitely a fave!

Now, I am re-reading Rock Chick Revolution (this was kind of an accident. I accidentally clicked on it on my kindle, and before I knew it, I was on Chapter 4…)

Just finished "Criminal" by Karin Slaughter! To avoid accidental spoilers, I will only say the need to have an actual flow chart to keep characters straight was time well spent, as the storyline(for me anyway) was riveting enough to keep me interested!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I am currently reading Walk to Beautiful by Jimmy Wayne. He wrote his autobiography with Ken Abraham.

I have followed his music career from the very beginning, his walk half way across America and his work with CASA and the foster care system.

I highly recommend it. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

My usual preference is contemporary romance....nothing I have to really think about/tax my brain about while reading like....Sherryl Woods, Susan Wiggs, Jill Shalvis, etc.

You're not going to believe this but I'm reading Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi. I know, I know, I swore that this book was off my list forever, after all the times I tried reading it.

But, the book kept calling me so I thought, okay, one more time. I feel like I've been reading it for a week but it's probably only been days, but I'm only 11% into the book (on my Kindle). It's taking forever, but to be fair, I've been very tired lately and conk out some nights without reading a page. I do like it though, and I sense there's a very good book there.

Wish me luck!

sunny, you have stick-to-it-iv-ness! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

UPDATE: I'm up to about 25% of the book. I am REALLY enjoying it, but I don't have much reading time these days. Some nights I fall asleep before I turn the Kindle on.

If I dare to update my Kindle, I will lose the book. It's a library loan, and if I turn the WiFi on, the book will disappear, along with several other books that have been removed from my account by the library. As long as I don't update, I'm good forever.

Good night sweet readers.

Re: What Are You Reading --- October 2014

First I want to say that I love Tana French as a writer. I've read all five of her books and especially loved BROKEN HARBOR and THE FAITHFUL PLACE ( did I get that name right?). But I just finished THE SECRET PLACE and I really didn't like it. I didn't care about the characters and I would not have guessed this was a Tana French book. Maybe it's my age (57) but I felt like she was writing this for a younger crowd. Anyway, I do not recommend it Just my opinion.

I just started The Information Officer by Mark Mills. It is a murder mystery/love story/ intelligence thriller set in Malta during WWII when Malta was occupied by British and under siege by German and Italian Bombers. Starting off well.

I have read another book by this author (The Savage Garden) which I enjoyed.

Just finished this book and really enjoyed it. Interesting characters and good suspense.

I finished Rainbow Rowell's ATTACHMENTS. It was a very light, quirky, contemporary romance. I was in the mood for a fun, quick read and this fit the bill.

I'm about a quarter of the way through A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME by Stephen W. Hawking. It's really not that much of a hard read, but some discussions and explanations are tedious. The nature of time and the universe has always intrigued me, so I am looking forward to the rest of the book.
