It is not an uplifting read so far Around the 300 page mark). Very descriptive in the horrors of war. I'm through Gallipoli and just arrived at the Allied hospital on the front lines in France. The fact that they are treating the wounded from both sides make you wonder about the absurdity of this whole war business. I will stick with it as there are a couple of characters I want to see through to the end.
Next up is All the Light we cannot See for my book club.

I think I answered your question re the author's name somewhere in this thread. Maybe dated 2/28?
I've read both The Kept Man which was good from what I remember since it was in 2007 and I really disliked The Melting Season which was a strange book from my review on Shelfari.
