I've ordered several items from Etsy vendors, a custom designed pendant, earrings for my granddaughter, scrapbook supplies, and just today I ordered a hand crocheted winter hat. I've always been very pleased with the purchases. I placed an order for girl's boots from Zulily a few years ago and they were o.k. But as another poster stated, its important to know brands and prices before ordering. Also, no returns from Zulily.

I buy from Zulily on a regular basis and they are not a clearing house or seller of secondary goods.
They are an online store who takes orders for merchandise for a certain period of time, usually a couple of days. At the end of the period, they order the merchandise from the manufacturer and when it is delivered to them, they send it out to you. Shipping on most, but not all items might take up to two weeks or longer if the item is imported.
Most of the items are sold for less than you could find elsewhere, I got a $100 shower curtain for $39. I wanted this curtain for a long time and was happy with the bargain.
They have items from QVC and also other shopping channels. I have seen Skinn products sold on there.
I do not buy clothing that might not fit. It's a good place for gloves, hats and jewelry.. things that fit everyone,
They do not take returns but if there is a problem with your items, They will make it right. They often return your money and then give you a credit to your account in addition to the refund.
Etsy is a on line store where individual sellers can hawk their wares. Many things are hand crafted and/or custom made.
I love both places.,, .They have unusual items not found elsewhere.

I have no experience with Zulily, but I LOVE Etsy. As someone else mentioned, I could browse that site for hours.
I've bought some great things from Etsy vendors.

Our DD has a very successful business selling entirely on etsy. She has also given me some very nice handmade jewelry. It is a fun place to browse & shop at.

Etsy is a platform for sellers who sell handmade items, vintage, or supplies. I've been selling on Etsy since 2010 and have a successful business that has allowed me to purchase my home and support my family. When purchasing from Etsy, make sure to read the reviews and policies as each seller is independent even though the transaction takes place on Etsy.
Zulily also sells some handmade items, but most of it's manufactured and is owned by QVC. The brand name items are usually sold at a discount and most often do not allow returns.

Etsy has two components, one is sales of merchandise similar to eBay the other is the sale of arts and crafts types of things. They run the gamut, there are thousands and thousands of objects for sale, mostly hand-made.
Zulily is not owned by QVC, they're both owned by Liberty Interactive and they're independently operated. It's a reseller of manufacturers' excess merchandise. You can go to the site and read how they operate. They are unique.
You really can't compare the two operations as they don't do the same thing and would be used differently.
