Were you poor and didn't even know it?

As we get our first hint of fall here this morning with a balmy 70 degrees (108 yesterday) I remember how hot it was growing up in Texas with no a/c...but I also remember only one bathroom in our house.....and five of us sharing it...... and no month-long summer camps or vacations to the beach every summer either....can't imagine how we managed but as I look back I guess we were poor and didn't even know it! Were you poor and didn't know it?
