Well THIS Happened

[ Edited ]

Last night I went to bed at about 9:30pm, and was asleep soon after.

When I got up this morning, I went out to the kitchen and turned on the faucet.

No water.

I was 99% sure that I had paid my water bill.

In fact, I even went on line to make sure that I had, and sure enough, I had a zero balance.

Also, it was not anywhere near cold enough for pipes to freeze.

I went out on my back deck, and I could see flashing lights, and hear the engine of a heavy vein on the next street over.

Hmmmm.

Something was going on.

Could one have something to do with the other?

I went past the street, and saw a backhoe and a city vehicle.

I got on line and learned that at 10pm last night, city water main broke and flooded the whole street!

Ohhhh!

So that's why I don't have any water!

So, no coffee, no shower, and worst of all, no toilet.

Ugh!

Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon!

Because I do like having the ability to flush!😄

I hate when that happens!  It sounds as if they are working diligently to get it repaired.  Hopefully, you will have water soon.  In the meantime, can you get a to go coffee somewhere?  Maybe bottled water and some instant could get you through??  Hang tough....Woman WinkWoman Frustrated  We really do depend on modern conveniences, don't we?

I feel your pain.  Our entire city lost water for 10 days after massive flooding.  The water was so high that it ran over the hills and barricades surrounding water plants. The National Guard set up water tanks all over the city so we could take our gallon jugs to fill.  It was a pain.  It's amazing how creative people got.

At least you know they're working on it! Hope it's repaired soon!

I can do w/o the coffee, there's always dry brushing, and the toilet can wait, but not having water to wash hands would be unbearable! If you don't have wipes, you could simply use dish soap and wipe off w/ a towel.

Don't know what city people can do, but, when I used to live out in a country area and owned 20 acres. We could go between buildings. Our city water meter would freeze up in Ind. Husband would have to use blow dryer to thaw it out. After that we kept a rug over it down in the water meter hole.

Unlike some of the posts you got I'm SORRY you have to deal with this due to no fault of your own. You have to consider the source in the rude people who are allowed to be in the forums.
