I, unfortunately, had two Gucci watches in my lifetime, and I will NEVER have another!

I had the popular bracelet watch with interchangeable bezels. I remember QVC had a an almost identical knock-off for about a 1/3 of the price.

If you are going to buy a status watch, buy one from a company known as a watchmaker.

Is a "Gucci watch" considered a "status watch"?

I think that just the name is 'status'.

I had the bracelet watch with the interchangeable bezels also. The bezels were plastic and the band was just gold tone or gold over something else.

I accidently threw it out with the newspaper one Thanksgiving. Now that I look back, no big loss.

I now have four watches that appear to be stainless steel or gold tone wristbands, but they are solid gold.

To me they are *status* watches, but to anyone else they probably look like $49.99 watches. And that's okay.

Excellent, RRR. In today's cost of repairs, it is a good price. Repairs are expensive now-a-days, as there aren't many watch repair shops.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: Well I got my Gucci Watch Back

Well, yes back in the 80's anything "Gucci" was a status! My DH bought the first watch, and after a year it stopped working, sent it off and of course, too much to fix! He decided to buy me another one, and the same thing happened!

Re: Well I got my Gucci Watch Back

I remember when everyone in NYC had a knock off Gucci bag.

Except me.

Not that I felt deprived or anything.

Re: Well I got my Gucci Watch Back

I have a Gucci watch and the only reason why I bought it was because of the band is made of joining horse bits, and being a horse owner, my daughter told me I had to get it. Ha!

I don't think Gucci watches are a status symbol. And even if it is, who really cares how other people spend their money?????

Good for you. I have two Gucci watches that my DH got me in the 80's. I need to put new batteries in them but I have to take them to a jeweler. I should do that one day. Thanks for the reminder.

Happy Holidays to you.

Don't let your watches sit around with dead batteries. They can leak and ruin the works in the watch. Very expensive to repair (replace).

You're right, Kachina624. They are probably already ruined.

Re: Well I got my Gucci Watch Back

I have quite a few watches and tend to wear the same one all the time so to save the batteries I pull the stem. Yes, it is a pain to set the exact time but at least I know the battery is good when I decide to wear a watch that has been sitting the jewelry box for months and months.

Isn't it great when you get something repaired that you love and can continue to use it? {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} Hope life is going well for you, RRR.

Thank you for the posts everyone and thank you BlueCollarBabe..........I am a bit down........talking to my former boyfriend but he is not affectionate and I don't know if I can settle with that. We went the the ball game and then to breakfast the next day and no hugs, no kiss and no holding hands.......why then did he come to my door on Wednesday and kiss me like crazy and say he was sorry? Who knows but I feel very lonely..........I need a pet and my fish is ok but not enough......all and all I am feeling somewhat better but still taking my medicine that caused my weight gain. It is 12:20 am and I have no desire to go to sleep but I guess I will try..........I am still blessed and thankful but with no job, can't work, no pet, no grandchild around, no family around...........I feel totally lost and alone.........and I don't know how to pick myself up this time. I am tired mentally and really depressed or deeply sad and I guess I need to up my Prozac.
