I just feel so guilty using butter. Although I do bake with it. I do use skim milk in coffee etc.

Lately, I have read that skim milk is high on the glycemic index and whole fat milk is better for us because it has less sugar content. Sometimes, it is so difficult to decipher who to listen to....there is so much information being bandied about and who do we believe.

Are you serious??? Sheesh...might as well stop eating and breathing.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Just about everything I eat seems to have something wrong with it or someone will find something wrong with it. I have decided to try my best but I tried to give up my half and half in coffee recently and it tasted awful. I found a substitute from Land of Lakes called Low Fat half and half. It has 1gm of sugar for two tbsps and it has no junk in it. It's the best i can do. The fat is less but it still makes the coffee taste good.

I'll see if I can find it. I bpught the FF version and it was tasteless.

I did find a Farmland half and half version that is skim milk with none of the additives and it's very good. It's just hard to find.

Yes, the Fat Free version is terrible and has a lot of additives that the Low Fat version doesn't have.

It's like science experiment gone wrong.

I did find a coconut milk creamer that is fat free and organic. No additives but i remember back in the day they said coconut oils were bad for us. Now I see them recommending them like crazy.

It is so hard to know what to eat.

Every time they take something out of food they put something back in to make up for it. That is why it is best to eat whole foods. No low fat, fat free, etc...

We love olive oil. It's a staple in our house.
ours too. I put oil on my vegetables and sprinkle parmesan cheese on them too. Smiley Happy

I saw some show and they said we sop up so much oil in our bread doing that...sheesh a little pleasure please!!!

I pour the oil on a small plate and sprinkle the herbs in it and dip. I use about 2 teaspoons. I like to live dangerously. Haha Smiley Happy

Sounds good to me!! I love it with herbs.

Besides it's like the Mediterranean diet. Which is very good for us...at least right now.

Here's something that's good if you like hummus. I place it on top of romaine lettuce leaves, add tomato wedges, Greek olives, and a little onion shaved paper thin. On top of that I lightly drizzle olive oil on top. I cut pita into wedges, and place around it on the plate. It's really good.
Edited to add, i lightly toast the pita.
oh yum thanks for the tip !

Yep, I will take the full fat half and half. I don't really use it though. I don't drink coffee and don't drink it in my tea.
