I doubt it.  I would think if you had a real lactose intolerance you would know which foods were safe to eat or not.

Who knows?  I normally would have argued and tried to convince her but wasn't in the mood.  I had to try to keep myself from laughing.  Maybe she'll figure it out.

@Carmie  That is mind boggling!  Did you explain to her that eggs do not contain lactose, which is milk sugar?

@Enufstuff   Yes, I mentioned that only milk has lactose and only milk products are dairy, but she got defensive, so I just backed off.

How weird.

Good thing you backed off.  You don't want to fall into that conversational rabbit hole.

There are those who mistakenly think gluten free = low carb or keto.   Nope to that one, too.

Technically DAIRY is milks and creams
However, if you have had consultation with a nutritions, which I had too,
The medical field classifies dairy with eggs included because of the source .

People who are intolerant suffer usually from intestinal issues, which I do
So when I share intolerance I emphasize this aspect.
Your neighbor will be ok as egg whites are not the intestines upset, it’s generally the yolk.
I can’t eat eggs either so I understand.

It’s a fuzzy line between lactose intolerant and ALL DAIRY which is plus some.

Eggs are from birds.  Birds are not mammals, hence no mammary glands.

Eggs are not dairy.  Period.

There is no logical reason for anyone to include them in the dairy group.
