What on earth could OW have done that was so heinous as to make a person who otherwise would have joined WW decide not to.
If you're weighing (pun intended) your options and just decide to go another route, fine. But if you continue on your same path in defiance of OW's connection to a diet program you were interested in, then I think it might be just an excuse.
People who successfully lose weight and maintain don't do so by focusing on trivial stuff. Choose a healthful path and stick to it the best you can. Look ahead, not to the side distractions.

you can eat whatever you want but need to track those higher points.
Sometimes I do eat a piece of cake but track it .
I don't deprive myself of anything- if I want it that badly I track it.
My sugar cravings are gone- if I feel like cookies I am happy with
2 graham crackers which are 2 of my 30 daily points.
I don't eat processed foods at all- I work at home so I don't need
to pack lunches each day. I've gotten a lot of ideas for low point foods
from Connect.

I'm OK if I stay away from sugar, but if I have something I'm in trouble, it does become a craving. Weird, I'm not like that with anything else, including medication.

She is certainly not the average woman trying to lose weight with her trainers and chefs so let's be real. However, the program has always been very good and gives you variety. I don't believe in plans that limit carbs, etc. I plan on joining the WW plan this year.

I think I will, too @Katcat1
I don't know how far I can get if carbs are strictly limited. I like to have a lunch sandwich with Sara Lee 45 calorie bread. That used to be 2 points for the bread on the previous plan.
@Noel7 This thread has false info. Sara Lee 45 still has 1 pt. per slice. The carbs are NOT high point. The sugary foods ARE. That's pretty much only thing that went way higher in points.

Thanks @mima
I don't eat bread with dinner but I like a sandwich for lunch. I just had one, all veg, with the Sara Lee whole wheat.
DH made one for both of us, boy, he sure likes to pile on the grated carrot ![]()

I had to go on a very strict low carbohydrate diet and even when I got down to a very low weight, I had to continue to severely limit carbohydrates. None of my friends have been successful on it in the long term. Everyone has re-gained the weight. Another thing I dislike about Weight Watchers is that they have no statistics as to who keeps the weight off. After all these years, that important piece of information seems to be missing....

I gained weight after my daughter was born. I came down with mononucleosis and, unknowingly, lupus hit hard. I was basically housebound with an infant.
When I started getting better I joined WW, lost it all and it never came back. I gain easily, and after every Thanksgiving and Christmas, I go back on WW by myself and lose it. I know how to do the old points program, but I am interested in the new one.

Forgot to mention, I did/do WW with the WW ap on my phone. Never attended a meeting. I started off wanting to lose a few pounds for my daughter's wedding and kept going on the plan. DH says I should stop now, but I think I'd like to lose a few more.
That meeting stuff is not for me. I don't need group support to lose weight, but I understand that others find it helpful.

Thanks @faeriemoon
I did the meetings when losing baby gain and it was fun because two friends went with me. After the meeting, we all went out for sushi, LOL. The leader found out and told us it was a NO NO because we had no idea what was in the sushi.
I actually told her she had no idea what she was talking about, we'd have veg sushi and salmon sushi, hardly anything in there if you don't order a lot, basically a lettuce leaf and a teaspoon of rice for what we ordered.

10-15 lbs. I am an online member only- the fee is $19.95 per month.
I don't find the food choices restrictive at all. All foods are assigned points based
on the content of the food and of course foods high in sugar have high points.
I stay away from too much sugar but occasionally have a cookie or two. I just
look up the points. The best part of WW are the online tools. There you can
look up points for food and restaurant meals. I actually plan my meals each morning so I know how I'm doing with points. You are also given weekly points as a cushion or for a splurge.- my son made chocolate candy for Christmas gifts so that was my splurge last week! I don't feel at all deprived - actually I feel great! The best part of WW is
Connect- an online community of members sharing their stories, recipes and ideas.
It is inspiring and a big part of the success of many members. And yes Oprah does
contribute on Connect- all members are welcome ! No need for her to apologize for having a chef- that's just part of her story. You'll find a supportive community on Connect!

Thanks so much @lovesroadtrips !
I wanted to know how much the online fee was, not much more than almost two years ago, and I do want to learn the new system.

If they say "eat what you want" that's feeding you "bologna."
A lot of the promotions for boxed entrees and low quality desserts turned me off to weight watchers years ago. And Oprah ...yo yo dieter of the century still looks overweight after all this time? i'll pass...

WW doesn't want you to eat their products often, it's not like other plans where you have to eat their stuff. I don't eat it, either, but once in awhile I eat another brand of healthy frozen I keep in the freezer if I don't feel OK enough to cook.
Other brands like Lean Cuisine provide the WW points for you.

The lupus makes dieting much harder, the medication and not feeling OK enough to get out and walk often.

This is not true. I lost a lot of weight on a program 15+ years ago and I have several relatives who were very successful on WW programs throughout the years.
WW is trying to move people to eat more healthy foods. They also have always subscribed to the a calorie is a calorie is a calorie theory and now they do not. That is why eating any type of "junk" food is going to cost you more points. They would rather you eat fruit than a 100 calorie snack pack of something.
They don't just want people to lose weight, they want people to be healthier and eat in a healthier way.
I always thought the "calorie is a calorie" thing was the downfall in some ways for me. I don't think people can ever go long term and be healthy without learning how to fuel THEIR particular body and what they need to be healthy. And I don't think that it isn't very difficult for some people.
I think that is the point sometimes forgotten with WW. Not everybody can do this easily; not everyone can have it all and lose and keep off weight. I think back then they were trying to sell that idea so for people who were having a hard time and NOT losing, they really didn't have an answer.
