I know someone on it and she said it takes your appetite away and you don't feel hungry. She also told me that if she stops taking it the pounds will come back on so she will probably be on it forever. She is around 50 years old. She was not obese, she just wanted to lose 25 lbs to look better. People take it for many different reasons. It doesn't affect me so to each their own. Hope down the road they don't find it causes other ailments. I am glad it is available for those who truly need it for their health.

Diet and exercise does not work for everyone. Many people who suffer from obesity have tried, tried and tried again. Many have given up after years of an endless circle. Diet and exercise, (especially diet) works for me. But I am one person with a totally different DNA than another. I have know of a woman and a couple men who suffered horribly , being over 100lbs over weight. Believe me weight was not only on their minds, but effected everything they did. They tried and tried and tried again. After a while your body with develops almost resistance to dieting. Health issues are usuallyprevalent , medications, etc are stumbling blocks. Although I would be scared to death to take these meds, I am not in their position. I think if they are able to take the meds, and have a successful weight loss, good for them. The weight loss would open doors for them, encourage them... and hopefully they would go on with a diet and exercise program to keep it off. With Self esteem lifted, going from there might be easier. I am happy for those who loose weight of that magnitude, it ain't easy...any way one does it. All diets are not for everyone, no matter what each person who promotes a diet says.

Over the years, I have lost and gained weight.
I absolutely hate when someone asks me how I lost it. It is really none of their business. Some people have even hinted that I might have medical issues that led to weight loss.
The only comment I want to hear is " You look great."
Comments regarding anyone's weight gain, loss or about their body in general are rude. People are so lacking in manners.

I have been told by 2 different women doctors that some people just can't loose weight. Some women who are post menopausal have to exercise 5 times harder than a younger woman to loose weight. When your older, its pretty hard to exercise 5 times harder your lucky you can move.
People with Hashimotos disease & thyroid disease have even harder struggles as those diseases want you to gain weight & keep gaining & make it hard to loose it.
Everyone's metabolism is different & those with
lSuggish metabolisms are not not the same as people who easily loose.

I have a former colleague who has lost approximately 150 pounds using a GLP1, and she feels amazing. I don't judge because I am not living her life. She looks fab! I told her that if I saw her walking down the street, I would walk right past her. I know people who have done many different approaches to losing weight. I say you do you! One of my friends brought up the various diets we tried when we were younger... Someone mentioned the grapefruit diet! Yikes!!

Anyone CAN lose weight without drugs! Stop making excuses. I'm a type 1 diabetic and losing weight is supposed to be very difficult for someone like me. I lost 70 lbs. six years ago, by diet and walking, and have still kept it off. I stopped eating carbs and it works for my blood sugar and my weight. i wonder when these drugs will be deemed dangerous down the road. SMH
