God gives us what we need when we need it, which isn't necessarily what we
want when we want it. His timing is perfect. Lord, I will not fall into
doubt
and worry because I trust that You will bless me at the moment of my actual
need.

Scripture for the day:

"All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not
receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a
spirit of adoption. When we cry, 'Abba! Father!'" ~Romans
8:14-15

Meditation for the day:

God's spirit is all around us all day long. We have no thoughts, no plans,
no impulses, no emotions that God doesn't know about. We can hide nothing
from God. We need not make our conduct conform only to that of the world.
We need not depend on the approval or disapproval of others. God sees in
secret, but God rewards openly. If we are in harmony with God, doing our
best to live the way we believe God wants us to live, we can be at peace.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may always feel God's presence. I pray that I may live in
God's presence all day long.

Hello my friends! Today was a very restful day for my husband - catching up
on rest after working so hard for 4 days in a row. Now, Praise God, he has
a few days off. I made a turkey soup out of the carcass that I'm serving
when my sister comes tomorrow - and Monica, her neighbor. It turned out
very good and tasty. Supper will be something on the grill. I'd like to
ask you for a special prayer for Darla - she is going through a very hard
time right now and needs lots of prayers. Thank you so much - know that
you're all in my prayers.

REMEMBER THE DUCK
Author Unknown
November 27, 2012

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given
a slingshot to play with, out in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but
he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back
to dinner.

As he was walking back, he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he
let fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and
grieved. In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his
sister watching. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch that day grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes."

But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen
today, didn't you Johnny?" And then she whispered to him, "Remember, the
duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.

Later Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing, and Grandma said,
"I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."

But Sally smiled and said, "Well, that's all right because Johnny told me he
wanted to help." And she whispered again, "Remember, the duck?" So Sally
went fishing and Johnny stayed.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's, he finally
couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he
killed the duck. She knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I
know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But
because I love you, I forgave you. But I was just wondering how long would
you let Sally make a slave of you."

I don't know what's in your past. I don't know what one sin the enemy keeps
throwing up in your face. But whatever it is, I want you to know something.
Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. But
because He loves you, He is ready to forgive you. Perhaps He's wondering how
long you'll let the enemy make a slave out of you. The great thing about
God is that He not only forgives, but He forgets.

SOME TALK THE TALK, BUT MAY STUMBLE WALKING THE TALK
Author Unknown

A man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a busy boulevard.
Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the
right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have
beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming in
frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection
with him. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window
and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer.

The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her
to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted,
photographed, and placed in a cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened
the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the
arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind
your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in
front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What
Would Jesus Do" bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School'
bumper sticker and the chrome-plated fish emblem on the trunk.
Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."

God Bless You!

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-three students filing into the
already crowded auditorium.
With rich maroon gowns flowing and the traditional caps, they looked almost
as grown up as they felt. Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and moms
freely brushed away tears. This class would not pray during the
commencements ----- not by choice but because of a recent court ruling
prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to stay within the
guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging
speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for
blessings on the graduates or their families. The speeches were nice, but
they were routine
.......until the final speech received a standing ovation. A solitary
student walked proudly to the microphone.
He stood still and silent for just a moment, and then he delivered his
speech.... an astounding SNEEZE!. The rest of the students rose immediately
to their feet, and in unison they said, "GOD BLESS YOU." The audience
exploded into applause. The graduating class had found a unique way to
invoke God's blessing on their future ... with or without the court's
approval.

Everyone Has Problems

A mother who had lost her only son went to the man of religion in her
village and said: "Is there anything you can give me to reduce the pain that
I feel?"

"Yes," he said. "There is a wonderful thing you can do. I want you to go and
get me a mustard seed from a home that has no problems. Such a mustard seed
can ward off all problems. When you find it, bring it to me and I will use
it to relieve your pain." So the mother started out and came to a big
mansion. Nothing could possibly be wrong here! She knocked on the door, told
what she was looking for, and they answered, "You've come to the wrong
house." And then they told her all their problems.

As she was listening to their problems, she thought, "I know something about
problems... Maybe I can help these people with theirs." So she listened to
them; and this helped people.

She kept on searching for her magic mustard seed. But no matter where she
went, she could not find that seed. Everyone everywhere had some kind of
troubles.

But she really did find the magic mustard seed, because in trying to help
others solve their problems, she forgot all about her own.

Wisdom for the Road

Cherish things while you still have them, before they're gone, and you
realize how precious they really are.

Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

Everything in life is temporary.
So if things are going good,
enjoy it because it won't last forever.
And if things are going bad,
don't worry because it won't last forever either.

Destiny is not a matter of chance,
it is a matter of choice;
it is not a thing to be waited for,
it is a thing to be achieved.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Never cross a bridge without knowing how to swim the tides.

If you could not add years to your life
Add life to your years.

Dear Sweet Jesus,
Walk with me today and grant that I may hear your footsteps and gladly
follow where they lead.
Talk with me today and grant that I may hear your tender voice and quicken
to its counsel.
Stay with me today and grant that I may feel your gentle presence in all I
do, say and think.

Be my strength when I weaken, my courage when I fear.
Help me to know that it is your hand holding mine through all the hours of
this day...
Amen.

Mary, Mother of Jesus,
give me your heart
so beautiful, so pure,
so immaculate,
that I may be able to receive
Jesus in the Bread of Life,
love Him as you loved Him,
and serve Him as you served Him
in the distressing disguise
of the poorest of the poor.
Amen.
