If you think success and really believe it will happen, you will perform in
a manner
that leads to success. Lord, may I always avoid negative thoughts and
visualize
myself in the manner that You intended for me.

Scripture for the day:

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I
will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30

Meditation for the day:

The way sometimes seems long and wary. So many people today are weary. The
weariness of others can often be shared by me. The weary and the
heavy-laden, when they come to me, can be helped to find the rest that I
have found. There is only one sure cure for world-weariness and that is
turning to spiritual things. In order to help bring about the turning of
the weary world to God, I can dare to suffer, dare to conquer selfishness in
myself, and dare to be filled with spiritual peace in the face of all the
weariness of the world.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be a help to discouraged people. I pray that I may have
the courage to help bring about what the weary world needs but does not know
how to get.

Hello my friends! I didn't hear from QVC and when I tried to call it was
too late. So will tomorrow earlier, I think they forgot all about this
situation over the weekend. Today we had the most beautiful sunny day - up
to the upper 70's - like summer came back!! Love it - and I appreciate all
nice warm weather as we can still enjoy it - what a nice blessing! I talked
to my sister, Sister LaDonna on the phone tonight - she is doing well and
very busy! She sews beautifully and she's sewing a cover for someone who
has a walker, and more sewing. When I was small she made all my clothes
while she was still at home. Sammy is the same - I can hardly wait for him
to stop limping. I'm not giving him pain pills anymore, I don't see any
improvement when he's on them or not, and he hates taking them. I just give
him his antibiotic once a day and twice a day his prednisone - by putting
them in the pill pockets with seems to work the best. Please keep your
prayers going for his health to return and that fluid in his elbow gets
away. Praying for all of you and thanks much for your prayers for us.

Mary's Peace Prayer

Mary, Mother of God my mother, Queen of Peace, ask Your Son Jesus to
give me the gift of peace. Pray for me for peace; peace in my heart, peace
of mind and of soul, peace in my family, peace with all whom I meet, the
peace of Jesus.

Jesus, my Lord and Savior, my Brother, King of Peace, I come to You
with Mary, Queen of Peace, to ask You humbly for a new outpouring of the
gift of peace. Pour out on me Your Holy Spirit of Peace.

Give me peace, Jesus, peace within myself, peace in my family, peace in
my everyday life. Give peace to my nation, and to all nations, peace among
all peoples, peace in the world.

Jesus, my mediator with the Father, take me to the Father to pray for
peace.

Father, Father of Jesus, our Father, my Father, I come to You with Your
Son Jesus. In Him and with Him and through Him I pray for peace.

--Fr. Robert Faricy, S.J.

The Real Meaning of Peace

There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would
paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king
looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really
liked, and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for
peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky
with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it
was a perfect picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and
bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which
lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming
waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.

But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a
tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird
had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water,
sat the mother bird on her nest in perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the
second picture. Do you know why?

"Because," explained the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place
where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in
the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That
is the real meaning of peace."

Obstacles

An old farmer had plowed around a large rock in one of his fields for years.
He had broken several plowshares and a cultivator on it and had grown rather
morbid about the rock.

After breaking another plowshare one day, and remembering all the trouble
the rock had caused him through the years, he finally decided to do
something about it.

When he put the crowbar under the rock, he was surprised to discover that it
was only about six inches thick and that he could break it up easily with a
sledgehammer. As he was carting the pieces away he had to smile, remembering
all the trouble that the rock had caused him over the years and how easy it
would have been to get rid of it sooner.

For A Brighter Life
Go forth with each new dawning day
With faith in God and you,
And you will find that all your fears
Will disappear from view.

Go forth with faith in heart and mind
And confidence anew,
And there is nothing in this world
You'll find you cannot do.

Look at the brighter side of life,
Cast out glooms and despair,
And when you need a helping hand
You'll find God always there.

Call His Name

Call His Name
In my mind,
Knowing He's there
Never hard to find.
Thanking Him for
Grace, Mercy and Love,
Praising my Father
Who reigns high above.

Not only in bad times
When all things seem wrong,
But Praising my Savior
All day long.

Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit
For the Cross of forgiveness
And drawing me near it.
