for another makes us forget our own sorrows. Lord, You comfort me. Help me
now to be a comforter.

Meditation for the day:

A truly spiritual man or woman would like to have a serene mind. The
best way to keep calm in this troubled world is to have a serene mind.
The calm and sane mind sees spiritual things as the true realities and
material things as only temporary and fleeting. That sort of mind we
can never obtain by reasoning, because our reasoning powers are limited
by space and time. That kind of mind we can never obtain by reading,
because other minds are also limited in the same way. We can only have
that mind by an act of faith, by making the venture of belief.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may have a calm and sane mind. I pray that I may look up,
around and away from myself.

Hello my friends! Weather here was like summer!! It was really hot picking
raspberries this afternoon. What a busy afternoon - I planned on making
spaghetti for supper with ground turkey, which is fine, but thought I'd use
up the tomatoes that were there, and so I started to make spaghetti sauce
and start from scratch, time consuming and on my feet a lot in the kitchen.
Anyway, now everything is washed up and clean, but it sure made a mess - I
used my Vita-mix to mix up the tomatoes, nothing is better for that! It
pulverizes the peelings and seeds that you don't see any, yet they are there
to give you added nutrition. Everything turned out good, and there's
left-overs. Then we had our appointment for Sammy for his first training
since he missed yesterday. It went well, and he's smarter than I thought he
was. He'll do good in class. Now Linus is off work until next Monday! He
fell at work, and his leg hurts now - so he'll have time to heal. Praying
for you all - thanks for your prayers for us.



A Prayer for Peace & Strength

Lord, I come to you for help
Life is full of trials and turmoil
Sometimes it gets the best of even the strongest of your people
You, Lord, are the one to turn to.
I am in need of your guidance through this time

Lord, show me the way to obtain strength to combat the trials of life
I know your love is infinite
Because of your infinite love, peace can be obtained.
With strength and peace I can face turmoil

With all that life has to offer
Allow me to see your will in all that I do
Help me with your peace to help others.
Help me to see the good in everything around.
Help me to find and keep the peace that can be obtained from your love

With Jesus, I know I will gain strength.
His life had trials and turmoil.
Help me to learn from his sufferings.

Thank you for sending Jesus to show us that unconditional love is possible
With Jesus as our guide, our greatest goals can be achieved.

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the
examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what
lies on the other side."


Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."


"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the
other side?"


The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side of
which came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the
door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show
of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice
my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was
inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the
door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on
the other side of death, but I do know one thing...I know my Master is
there and that is enough."

Break My Will To Match Yours

Lord, when You come in the form of a trial,
no matter how small, like
the disappointment of having someone
disagree with me and
facing rejection from those I love;
when I know that I am in the right
and am blamed for what is wrong,
when I have worked hard
to make things pleasant,
yet meet with criticisms of
what might have been;
when the expectancy of waiting
seems to have no end,
and I see others enjoy blessings
I pray to have a share in, Oh, Lord,
make it easy for my will to conform to Yours.

For doing Your will involves
a wrenching and a tearing apart
of self-love.
My will cracks, and in the cracking
becomes whole again
while it yields to Yours.
Oh, God, the process is painful
while it lasts.

But no sooner do I yield to Your pleasure
than you unlock the torrent of joy!
What surging wave of peace You bring!
What overwhelming power of being free
while it lasts.

If this be a way of union with You, Lord,
Let my will conform to Yours,
no matter what the pain and the price,
that I may be one with You
in everything I do.

Prayer to Be One with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit

We long for You, Oh Spirit of Light,
we long to know God,
we want to be one with Him, our Divine God.

We want to be one with the Father,
know Him as a Person most intimately.

We want to know the beloved One,
the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
and live and dwell in Him at all times, every moment of our lives.
