As you draw closer and closer to God, you won't have to tell anyone because it will show in your face. Lord, teach me Your ways as I am ready and let Your love and peace flow through me even in my difficult moments. Scripture for the day: "O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me." ~Psalm 30:2 Meditation for the day: According to our varying needs, so do we think of God. It is not necessary that we think of God as others think of God, but it is helpful if we think of God as supplying what we personally need. The weak need God's strength. The strong need God's tenderness. The tempted and fallen need God's saving grace. The righteous need God's compassion for sinners. The lonely need God as a friend. The fighters for righteousness need a leader in God. We may find help from God in all these areas. When we turn to God for help, God's help is available to us. Prayer for the day: I pray that I may think of God as supplying my needs. I pray that I will bring all my problems to God for help in meeting them. Hello my friends! Today's blessings were knowing Ron is feeling much better, and he talked to Lori a long time today (her beloved Godfather). I have no idea whatsoever though what is happening with seeing my responses or even the responses I left. It is so frustrating that if that continues, I don't know what will become of this thread. I have deleted cookies, and still nothing works. I am thinking I can send this out, but won't be able to see any responses. I did once, and answered them, but they didn't show on the thread, so I posted them separately. Maybe just another glitch? We shall wait and see. Maybe we need to all be on the email version again? The "Did You" of Christ Did you give him a lift? He's a brother of man, And bearing about all the burden he can. Did you give him a smile? He was downcast. and blue, And a smile would have helped him to battle it through. Did you give him your hand? He was slipping downhill, And the world, so I fancied, was using him ill. Did you give him a word? Did you show him the road, Or did you just let him go on with his load? Do you know, what it means to be losing the fight, When a lift just in time might set everything aright? Do you know what it means just a clasp of the hand, When a man's borne about all a man ought to stand? Did you ask what it was, why the quivering lip? Why the half-suppressed sob and the scalding tears drip? Were you brother to him when the time came of need? Did you offer to help him or didn't you heed? Morning Prayer It's Me Again God Remember me God? I come everyday Just to talk to you, Lord And to learn how to pray You make me feel welcome You reach out your hand I need never explain For you understand I come to you frightened And burdened with care So lonely and lost And so filled with despair And suddenly Lord I am no longer afraid My burden is lighter And the dark shadows fade Oh God what a comfort To know that you care And to know when I seek you You will always be there. Faith Of A Mustard Seed "...He said to them, Because of the littleness of your faith [that is, your lack of firmly relying trust]. For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you..." - Matthew 17: 20 It only takes a little faith! We often think of ourselves not having much faith. We look at others and think they have a lot more faith. But Jesus said here that even if we had faith as small as a mustard seed we could do incredible things in God – nothing will be impossible, because with God all things are possible. We can speak to our mountains and conquer them with our faith firmly placed in God. Don't limit yourself. Take your mustard seed of faith today, and see what God can do. It only takes a little bit of faith To conquer the mountains that we have in our lives! GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR Author Unknown One thing can always cheer me When I'm feeling sad and low When I tired of daily trials That I have to undergo, When those who should Seem closest, seem like People I don't know, One thing can always cheer me I know that God is near me. One thing can always cheer me When I do not understand How pain and sadness In our lives Can get so out of hand, When the best of human efforts Doesn't meet the days demands, One thing can always cheer me I know that God is always near me. One thing can always cheer me More than anything I've known And show me I will never Have to struggle on my own For no matter what might happen I will never be alone The thing that will always cheer me Is just knowing God is near me. Our lives are in God's loving Hands, in everything we do He is with us constantly, He always sees us through. And if our faith is strong enough We'll never walk alone, For with His great and perfect love He takes care of His own. Words of wisdom: I've learned that ...... Author Unknown I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it. I've learned that it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts. I've learned that you can get by on charm for about 15 minutes. After that, you'd better know something. I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do, but to the best you can do. I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important. It's what they do about it. I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it, there are always two sides. I've learned that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to think. I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them. I've learned that you can keep going long after you think you can't. Grant us a Portion of Love to Share Dear LORD, who created the earth & the heavens, who reigns supreme over all, who gives HIS mercy & forgiveness freely, who grants all believers many blessings & graces, who in HIS might does not spite us although we stumble & fall, but lifts us up to continue on our way to serve & praise YOU. Grant to us a portion of the LOVE YOU share with us in order that we may pass it on to others who are in need of GODLY LOVE. May we always praise YOUR HOLY NAME & may the sounds we make, be sweet sounds in YOUR ears. Thank YOU for allowing us to serve YOU, and to bring others into YOUR kingdom, to praise YOUR Name, to sing of YOUR glory, mercy & forgiveness. I pray this in the name of JESUS CHRIST, MY LORD & SAVIOR. Amen & Amen. YOU ARE LOVED!!!!! Leo Gaudette The Holy Spirit is the inspirer of all prayer. All through the centuries the prayer life of Christians has been lived under the influence of the Holy Spirit. Many of the well-known prayers of the Saints, hallowed by use and set down in print, have been of inestimable value in the spiritual lives of countless millions of Christians. The Spirit, too, is alive in our times and many contemporary prayers speak to the soul of modern man. This is all the work of the Holy Spirit. Cardinal Basil Hume Archbishop of Westminster Words of Padre Pio: Life is nothing but a continual struggle against one's self, and it does not open to beauty without the price of suffering. Always keep Jesus company in Gethsemane and He will know how to comfort you in the hours of anguish that will come. There is one thing I absolutely cannot stand and it is this: if I have to rebuke someone, I am always ready; but I cannot bear to see someone else do it. To see someone humiliated or mortified like this is unbearable for me. May God be pleased to see that these poor creatures truly repent and return to Him. One must truly be a mother towards all those people and, for this reason, have great care for them, because Jesus tells us that there is more festivity in Heaven for the sinner who repents than for the perseverance of 99 just people. These words of the Redeemer are truly comforting to many souls who unfortunately sin, and who then want to repent and return to Jesus. The woes of humanity: these are thoughts for everyone. Don't try, excessively, to heal your heart, as your efforts would only make it more infirm. Don't make too great an effort to overcome your temptations, as this violence would only make them stronger. Despise them and don't dwell on them too much. Do good everywhere, so that everyone can say: "This is a son of Christ." Endure tribulation, sickness and pain for the love of God and for the conversion of poor sinners. Defend the weak, console those who weep. Don't worry about taking up my time, because the time best spent is that spent in the sanctification of souls, and I don't know how to thank our Heavenly Father when He presents me some souls that I can help in some way. Never has the thought of revenge crossed my mind. I have prayed for them (the slanderers) and I pray. Perhaps sometimes I have said to the Lord: "Lord if to convert them a punishment is necessary, then give it so that they may be saved Sorry - I cannot help this.
