Wedding registery....what is proper

I have a relative getting married early August...I always thought it was in bad taste to put the registery information on the invitation but things are very different today....

My vote it not to list it, I just don't like the idea but how do you let the guests know where the couple is registered? There will be a small card in the invitation letting guests know how to get to the reception and the website for the RSVP, should/can the registery information be on that card?
