You can order off the bridal registry and they will wrap it for you and send if you are not attending the wedding. If you are attending, do what you are comfortable doing. I am sure whatever you do she will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Isn't that actually the point of a registry? So people will give you gifts from that registry? If not, why have one? Absolutely buy her something from the registry.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I think the registry is more for the bridal shower than the wedding, but nothing wrong with getting the wedding gift from there. Send it to the house, though, instead of bringing it to the reception.

Exactly, plus you love to wrap so it just makes sense.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. Like VanSleepy mentioned, I wasn't sure if the registry was more or less for the shower and cash was expected for the wedding. Sounds like there's nothing wrong at all with going with registry gifts for the wedding. I appreciate the help! Have a good night Smiley Happy

Cash should never be ""expected."" I never heard of a wedding registry being for the shower!

The registry is for the shower or the wedding.

I would buy from her registry, then you know you are giving her what she really wants.

It this is not her 1st wedding, and she is a cousin with which you "are not very close"? I know what I would give and it would be nothing for either reason or a combination of both.

But remember, this is a male perspective and I don't know many males that make these types of decisions. These things are usually made by their SO or wife.

A bridal registry is not and has never been for the shower; it's for wedding gifts. If you aren't going to the wedding, choose something from her registry and have it sent to her. The store will wrap the gift. If you are going to the wedding, do what makes you feel comfortable. You can give cash or a gift card but you can also select something she registered for and have it delivered. The items on their registery are things the couple want and hope to receive, you cannot go wrong that way.
