I'm not complaining, we didn't get as much snow as was expected.  However,  under the snow is a whole lot of ice and that makes clean  up problematic.  First we had rain, then freezing rain and finally snow , but we didn't lose power  for that I'm so grateful. After my last experience with ice ,  I'm indoors till the mess is cleaned up.  How is your weather ?

@QVCkitty1    If you'll page down a bit, there's a whole thread of peoples various weather experiences.  A lot seem to have  much ice.

We were lucky and got sleet instead of the freezing rain they were predicting. One degree in temperature made all the difference. Freezing rain would have covered more tree branches and caused them to come down on power lines.  Our roads are icy and we got snow this morning on top of yesterday's ice. Very cold temperatures hanging around for a few days so nothing will be melting for awhile. Very glad to still have power.

Not familiar, off the top of my head, with your previous experience. However, you are wise to stay put.

This was our scenario in 1984, ice covered with snow. Back then I did my running outdoors after I got off work at 4pm. Was dark by the time I got home and dressed to run.

Was very tricky running with having to look at the ground as much as possible while hoping you had footing. That is the year I decided to buy a treadmill.

Back in that year the only treadmills made were for commercial use. No company had a retail model. I had to find a Physical Therapist to order a Treadmill for me. I got 2 other friends to buy one, so we got them at a discounted price.

Now when I go outside our home to our mailbox, which is over 100' feet away, and on a downward slope! I pull on my ice cleats over my shoes. Even with them I test them for the amount of traction before walking across our 18' gravel road to retrieve our mail.

Now when I go ice skating? While i have fallen several times, with broken ribs and nose, but that was my choice of risks to take. Once I lace up my skates and check my balance out(on the ice) that particular day, I feel comfortable with my ability to stay upright.

Our weather right now is pretty good. Sun shinning and about 18°. After several days of -15° windchills, this feels like it's spring time.

I had a followup mammogram & ultrasound appt this morning so hit the road extra early cause I knew it would be an icy snow covered white knuckle drive...it's 6 so the road salt doesn't help. So glad to be home now but I need to shovel the 2" snowfall we had late yesterday. Total snow for Wed & Thurs is 12",  I'm grateful it wasn't worse & I made it to my appt.

@hckynutjohn , I fell on the ice because I stupidly wore my slippers out back. I have boots with ice grippers on them, but the guys are coming later, and I won't even attempt going outside until tomorrow.

I'm in east central Pa. and it's been raining here since yesterday. It's supposed to change to freezing rain, but still too warm. Hoping it doesn't because I have a 7:30 a.m. hair appointment which I was supposed to have done last week but canceled due to snow.

No weather here. High 60's to low 70's for the foreseeable future. No rain, certainly no snow, boring but better than what's coming in a few short months. Heat, heat and more heat until October.
