@Pqfan wrote:If mods keep moving threads it will be the death of Community Chat.
Chat should be able to be about any subject as long as it in within the QVC guide lines!
That is why they call it chat!
Maybe I am missing something.
It certainly is frustrating.
@Pqfan, I so agree with what you've said. You try to venture out to other threads and it's like you're a stranger and have never posted on the BB's before, LOL .. I miss all the fun we used to have and it was fun.. but then people started complaining about this that and the other- taking things way too seriously and then bam the Q changes things completely so there it all went..

I have never gone to the individual sub-forums and frankly, I don't want to. It's really not that difficult to scroll through forums and decide what I want to open and what I don't want to open.
A lot of other things about this place bother me a lot more than threads in "wrong" forums. This should be fun. If it's causing someone that much angst, maybe this isn't the place for them to be.

When I log in I go right to the "View All Forum Topics" and then scroll through the first few pages. That way all categories are covered. I just post responses to whatever the subject pertains to.
But, when I post a new message I do try to stay within the categories. If I was asking about a book review I wouldn't put it in Community Chat.

I can understand and empathize with most of the perspectives on this issue.
There's a reason forums are organized with topic-specific sub-forums, obviously, because it would be far too complicated to try and find things if all threads were in one long list. There's also a reason for some of the less specific forums, like "Community Chat" or "Among Friends," for things that don't seem to fit into other categories.
Even so, very little of it is "cut and dried." As others have said, some topics could easily belong in more than one category... and it's confusing if we start the same thread more than one time, in multiple sub-forums (anyway, I'm pretty sure cross-posting is against the standards).
Just my experience: Before the switch to this new forum format, I don't think the moderators enforced this issue much so threads remained where they happened to fall. Once the moderators began moving threads, it forced me to start checking more of the sub-forums I didn't read in the past. The result, for me, has been that I'm getting acquainted with posters I didn't know before and I'm seeing threads on topics I didn't read before. So there has been a positive outcome.
But I understand the frustration and confusion about consistency. And although it's always worth discussing these things, there's no perfect solution since it involves subjective judgment calls.
I actually think it's a good idea. Since thuis site does not have drop down menus that let you filter to see only the things you're intetrested in, having everything lumped together makes it hard to find the ones you do want to read.
For instance, I don't use WEN and really have no interest in reading the dozens of threads devoted to it, they often just become a source for the "haters" to once again say how much they hate it or Chaz. I don't want to read those threads, but I cann't go on the beauty forum and filter it so that I can check only the ones I do want to read. Like when you go to a site that sells shoes and click on Brands and they all come up and you can click on clarks, vionic, Bos and Co, Dansko for instance and only see those shoes not the 5000 other brand names. So if QVC wants to move all the WEN threads under the subforum, I can then read beauty and not see those.
I actually remember quite a few threads where people asked them to create a subforum for their favorite brand so that the regulars could all go there and post i.,e, Linea did that.
Doesn't bother me at all. Of course, if this forum had more tech friendly ways to assist users like installing a Sort feature, that might help as well.
Good points, @60sgirl.
And I do remember all the threads requesting -- even demanding -- separate sub-forms for many of the brands after the new platform launched.
In addition, I honestly don't think complaints about the old forums had anything at all to do with the new design (complaints which, by the way, were ever-present since the first day I registered here in 2010 and from what others have said were a staple of the forums long before that).
The new Community platform came on the heels of the redesign of the shopping site, and both seem to be a clear move toward the same layout and look of several other popular websites (same designer/web hosting as the others, too: Lithium).
The moderators and tech staff are dam-ed if they do and dam-ed if they don't.

@Lipstickdiva, While I don't understand why this has suddenly become a hot topic, I would disagree that the Community doesn't need sub-forums (I'm not sure if that's what you mean, though). One long list of threads, with no attempt at organization, wouldn't be very user-friendly.
I do think all the sub-forums should be listed on the left side of every page instead of hiding some of them under "My Favorite Brand." I never think to look under that one, either.
I agree, this is a place to come for enjoyment, relaxation, fun, even to learn new things and sometimes to ask for or offer support when things are tough, so it's not something I see worth stressing over. Even so, sometimes it's helpful for people to vent, express concerns, and talk back and forth a bit. I think that's all that's going on here, but then again I could be wrong... happens every day!

I don't really understand why some only post on a limited number of forums, or maybe even just one, especially if it's because they say it's where people they know only post.
I check pretty much all the forums, except sports, and even click onto that one every few weeks more or less.
There are nice and interesting and intelligent people on all the forums.
If I were you, I'd just do a bunch of clicking on all the forums and you might be happily surprised at the interesting things and interesting people you will find.

It is possible the reason there are few responses is because few poster have seen it. The large movie plexes we go to have not featured yet.
Until she won the Golden Globe, I'd not heard of Brie Larson and this movie. I go to the movies frequently.
If you go to the movies frequently, I'll bet you've heard of Amy Schumer's movie, Trainwreck. Brie Larson played her sister. I don't really care for Amy Schumer, but we saw this one because my husband wanted to see it. It was vulgar, as I expected it to be.....but funny, too.
I had no desire to see Trainwreck so I would have missed the Brie Larson connection.

Oh no I didn't mean no sub-forums at all. I meant all the brand sub-forums. For instance, if I want to post about something Philosophy, I want to just post it in the Beauty forum, not an individual Philsophy forum. Same with clothing. I don't see what the problem is with posting about Isaac in the fashion forum. I don't want to post just under the Isaac forum.
Where do you stop? As someone pointed out in another thread, there is no GILI sub-forum. Why not? It's okay to discuss that the regular fashion forum.
