Well, actually, I kind of pulled a Brian Williams when I said "we" cut it in half and "we" sanded it down and refinished it.
It was my husband who did the sawing....then it was my son-in-law who did the sanding....then it was my husband, again, who did the staining and applied the polyurethane. So it isn't me who has the talent.
But it was my idea to saw it....and I decorated it. Does that count?
Without "vision," this world would be a sorry place. Of course your idea counted! And one heck of a terrific idea it was! Can you imagine how many conversations are going to spring-board off of this thread from the ladies who have read this? They'll talk to their SOs and to their friends and family and before you know it, there will be second hand tables being purchased across the US here and there, sawn in half, treated with love and attention and given a new life.
Just because of your terrific idea.
Ooo-Rah!

I like to use odd things in unexpected ways. I bought a beautiful old dresser drawer (wood inlays, brass hardware) for $5 at a yard sale and am using it as a plant stand, standing on end in a corner of my bedroom with its embellished front facing the room. I have an old wooden cranberry rake that I use as a planter box and a big old woven picnic basket that I use as a chairside mini-table (with odds and ends stored inside). Love me some interesting old junque!
Sounds delightful.........Try to post photos!

What a novel idea! I have a half table against my picture window with an antique lamp.
