@Roz123456 this thread was started last night by @beach-mom who kindly every day but Sundays posts the TSV. She is a minister and does Sunday services Where she loves her church last night decided to cancel services for Sunday due to severe weather .

@chrystaltree and @Roz123456 - There were three of us involved in making this decision. First and most important we wanted everyone to be safe, from driving in the streets to walking in an icy parking lot.
Our Trustees chair said even if we cleaned the lot earlier it could ice up again with freezing rain.
That's who I was texting and calling. The forecast for our area changed drastically, predicting freezing rain turning to a mix, and we were trying to deal with it.

I went to church our service starts at 10am so no issues, the storm hasn't started yet in my area I think they predicted this afternoon. From the looks of the sky and the feeling in the air we are about to get our butts kicked. I am sure the grocery stores are packed but I shop pretty regular so we are well stocked in the freezer and refrigerator.
Stay safe.

@beach-mom, you are wise to be proactive and look out for the safety of others. Some people here are best ignored.

@beach-mom You made the right call to cancel the church service today. You are keeping your family, friends, coworkers and all of the churchgoers safe by cancelling due to hazardous winter weather conditions. Everyone will be so excited to go to your church service next Sunday! Relax, watch some great movies and stay warm indoors today. 😊💖

Just read a text. School is closed tomorrow! Yay! Another snow day. (Even though it's a federal holiday, universities are still open .)

We ended up with a nice turnout this morning inspite of the cold. I dressed in a turtleneck, a warm pullover sweater, and warm lined boots. I also brought a little blanket with me, and I'm glad I did. The church was on the chilly side.

I've had several broken bones due to ice and snow. Now, I'm even more "klutzy" so
I avoid snow and ice. Usually there are lots of seniors at church so I'm all for cancelling when it's bad outside and can always catch a sermon on youtube.
