I do wonder if they are such a sweet loving family outside of the taping of the show? No family is perfect.... No matter what negative things people say, or how people make fun of them, they have a family love and closeness that America could sure could use more of. And you never hear bad things about them like you do other reality families. There is no screaming, swear words or such in their show...rather nice.

I think it's really interesting how while we protest we want to see more families with solid values and upbringing....... while the other side of our brain hopes to see some dirt.......that is what I find more interesting then the table flipping..........................raven

"Reality tv" cynic here. The different shows are carefully edited, scripted. If you read about the family it's not all sunshine and lollipops.

I think it is the same with all reality shows. Of course they only show part of the story, and it is heavily edited and controlled (not scripted exactly -- more like I think situations are set up or suggested by producers -- very little happens truely randomly.)

I know a fair bit about the Duggars (well, not that I know them or anythng, just that I watch and follow them on the internet). I think there is a festering problem or two beneath the surface. How can there not be, seeing as they are human beings. I don't blame them for not airing those on TV. It is their right.
