Walmart in our town has taken out 4 registers. Seems they are encouraging customers to use the self check outs.  I have been lately since I dislike standing in long lines.

Also did they always have a 90 day return policy on clothing?   If they did, I guess I always returned things sooner since I didnt realize this. Tried to return today and it was past 90 days.  Smiley Sad

We don't have near the cashiers we use to have either. I guess this is the way of the future. Maybe they should knock some of our bill off, if we check ourselves out. That is saving them money, looks like.

I use self checkout sometimes if I have a few items. But it steams me when they take out registers for self checkout stands.  They're saving alot of money...are they passing that along to me? Yeah sure... like the oil companies did when they started us pumping our own gas.

My Target has put in more selfchecks and I have come to love them.  They seem faster to me.  Safeway has really bad software so I avoid theirs.

Our local Wal-mart took out half the registers and replaced them with self-serve.  One person watches the self-serve customers.   That one person replaces about five registers...all about the money,  I've never heard of any merchant offering a 90 day return policy....very generous.

90 day Return?  That’s an entire ‘season’.

Very, very generous.

Our local Walmart has added a few new self check out registers, but they did not remove any of the employee run registers.  The store is always super busy, even after midnight.

Everyday there are shoplifters caught at the store.  I go to the police department site and check out who was arrested.  I can't the believe how dumb or desperate people are.  Some people are caught with a cart load of stolen goods.

Their security department sure gets a workout. I am sure the shop lifting problems inflate prices for all of us.

Wow, I am surprised they have a 90 day return policy.  If you hung on to clothing for 3 months before you returned it, it would be out of season and could not be put back on the rack, and they would lose money on it.

Most retailers, including Amazon, have a 30 day or less return policy.

Our Walmart has 25 registers...but usually only two have cashiers. The self-checkout always has long lines due to that. Almost every self-checkout register has a glitch in it and malfunctions often  from my observation...they usually have an elderly man standing by them to troubleshoot  but he usually just fusses at the customer for doing something wrong....I avoid the mess altogether and go to the garden center to checkout....nice man who is usually out there....if you wake him up, he is very helpful.

Typically shop at WalMart in the morning, and before they installed the self-checkout registers it was always a pain standing in line because they never had more than 3 cashiers on duty.  Loved it when they put in the self-checkouts.
