If I am so disabled that I cannot put groceries away, I'd need more than a WalMart worker putting my stuff away. And if I'm not home, the delivery can wait until I return.

I don't have anybody to help me either, when and if that time comes where I do have to choose to go into a nursing home or hire somebody from a agency even if that you don't know if they can be trusted or not.
World has changed if you let in somebody or if they let themselves in you might wind up dead, stuff stolen, and they will be out on the streets by the time the sun goes down.

How would they know where to put things if you weren't home? Refrigerated and frozen items are easy, assuming they can find the refrigerator and freezer, but what about the rest?

I can definitely see a need for this type of service. Like someone else said you have other people in your home that you don't know personally.
Not everyone who is homebound is in need of a nursing home. If you don't drive, don't have anyone to take you shopping then what.
It's easy to say go to a nursing home but not everyone can afford that let alone insurance doesn't pay for it. Medicare pays for 60 days IF medically necessary. Personal care homes are expensive and private pay at a skilled nursing facility is extremely expensive.

I definitely see a need for this service for those with certain disabilities or physical limitations, such as first days back home following surgery, recent back or shoulder injury, eye treatments requiring a person not to bend, specific medical treatments which require patients to avoid bending for a few weeks, persons with vision problems.
I don't know how many customers would want this service, but I can see it being helpful.

I think another company is already doing this or is getting ready to try it. No way I would ever let someone into my home if I am not there...especially WM. It seems the liability alone would make this whole idea problematic.

DD uses the grocery bell service at Walt Disney World every time they go there, twice a year. She loves the convenience since your suite is fully stocked with whatever you ordered when you arrive. Last trip, however, was a problem since many of the things were out of stock. They didn't bring diapers....yikes...big problem with three children in them!

I would never let a stranger in my house. I had an appointment with DirecTV yesterday and made him show ID before letting him in....even though he arrived in a DirecTV truck.
