@tansy that's what I think because they are basically dumping all the toppings in on top of the chips so it's messy digging through the bag to get to a chip to use as a scooping device.

I'm not a fan of tacos to start with so these would be a no for me.

@tansy ...........You can eat them with your fingers, or plastic utensils, they are called "walking" so you can be on the go.

I live in Phoenix...and to tell you the truth, I have never seen anyone walking around and eating out of a bag...

These have been popular in my area for at least 15 or 18 years.  They are made in the smaller, individual size of Frito or Dorito bags.

I have never seen anyone eat them with their fingers.  They are always served with a plastic fork.  They are a taco salad in a bag, not nachos.

@LTT1.  For years, a well-known lunch counter on the Plaza in Santa Fe was famous for its  bag of Fritos with a generous scoop of chile added.  They called it Frito Pie.

That sounds delicious.  We're having regular tacos tonight but want to try this some time.

The schools sell these in their cafeteria as a healthy meal.  The kids love them.

Imagine giving a kid a bag of Doritos with ground beef, seasoning and cheese.  There is no lettuce or tomato with it.

It's just what the kids need....lots of empty calories, fat and sodium.

Back in the 80s in So California, we called them 'Chili Billys', though I'm not sure of the spelling. Fritos, taco meat, & fixins' all in the Frito bag. Concession food!
